Fun, surprisingly immersive, and great value. My only gripe is that the apps are very intensive and it caused my phone to overheat, which prompted the headset to tell me to stop using and wait for it to cool. Not sure if my phone overheated, or if it overheated the VR. Either way, some improvements could be made. Can't complain too much. Mine was free with my GS7E.

Though the concept of VR is good, the technology is it's initial stage. It is not pleasant to watch the videos using this device. It gave me irritation on my eyes and made them red.

I returned it because of the app you are forced to use. One of my buddies hacked it and made it very useful. i wouldn't buy unless the garbage samsung software is removed.

This item looks much cooler than it actually is. The quality is okay but I don't like how it connects to the phone. The charger port will break so much faster.

Man, i ws so looking forward to getting these. I purchased one for me and my wife... Its really an amazing piece of equipment, but the overheating issues on my s6 are just way too much. You cant get through anything without the overheat message coming on. I am reading online about all the tips and tricks for it not to overheat and none of them worked for me. Some people are even playing in front of fans and a/c's just to get good use. Some people are saying to download all these different apps that will cool your phone down and turn your brightness level down. Again, none of it worked for me. Plus who wants to go through all of this just to play this thing. The last thing i read was that after the first couple of days it stops overheating and tht it does so bc you are downloading content. As amazing as it looks theres no point in having one if you cannot use it for more than 10 minutes. How can you get through a movie. This may vet returned if things don't change. At this point i would not recommend until Samsung finds a way to keep it cool

First off, this is one truly impressive piece of technology! More importantly, it's amazingly "not" overpriced at all! I've been deeply involved with technology for many years, and as such, wasn't expecting all that much... but I was so VERY surprised to find myself in the wrong. First off, on the negative side this product doesn't offer 4K resolution, and I'm spoiled by that as I've recently switched "all" my video at home to SONY 4K sets from a variety of brands offering 1080p video (also all high end units). Now for all the positives... Virtually everything else one could expect is there for the asking. It accepts all phones, including my newest Samsung Note 5, supports a wide variety of sound outputs, includes memorable visual components... and much, much more! Even better, it's only $100 to get in on this technology! If your on the bleeding edge, pick this one up, you likely won't regret it!

The games this comes with are not of much interest to me and the focus of the picture is almost impossible for anyone that wears glasses

I tried many different ways to find out how to download the Gear VR programs by going to Samsung and Oculus online. All unsuccessful!!

Video Quality Was bad and you can only wear for a couple of minutes before you have to take off because your eyes start hurting

This is absolutely the best option for mobile based virtual reality and if you have a compatible phone then don't hesitate to pick one up. The only issues I've had is it will overheat my s6 edge when playing a bunch of games in a row, but Turning on airplane mode then turning on wifi seems to help with this. Power saving mode helps even more but it does lower fps a wee bit. Not to mention The amount of free content is astounding and it seems like there is more added all the time.

These are not the type of thing i will use but I did get them for free with my purchase of my phone but they are worthless to me.

For me, I had to put on reading glasses to see the images. I do not need them to read. The focus needs much more range.

What a waste of money on an overpriced plastic glasses. Better off buying x-ray glasses from the back of a comic book.

If you have motion sickness when playing video games then I recommend to not get this. I got dizzy within 5 minutes

If you already have a Samsung Galaxy S6, S7, or Note 5, this is well worth the purchase. It is a great and easy way to be introduced to virtual reality. VR is making huge advances compared to what it used to be and as more applications come out it shows even more what it is capable of. It is amazing how VR can suck you in create feelings that you would figure were impossible unless you were actually moving. However, there are a lot of issues that need to be addressed. First thing, as many others have stated, is the overheating. There is nothing more fun spoiling than to be 10 minutes into a game to get the pop-up about it overheating. If you choose to continue and ignore it, the game becomes unplayable with 1-4 frames per second refresh. I have purchased the gel packs that some have mentioned and it has helped in extending my gameplay, but it still gets too hot at times especially if the charger is plugged in. Visually the screen door effect is very obvious and makes the screen look blurry, no matter how much you try to focus. However, once you get engrossed in a game or movie, the effect seems to fade away. This will surely get better as screens increase in their resolution and pixels per inch and you have to remember that you are looking at your phone really really close. Game prices are rather steep compared to other phone related games. I understand that they are more involved that your typical phone based game. However, I hate to pay $5.99 for an app only to find out that it is about 10 minutes worth of entertainment with no replay value. I do like how some of them have gone “free” with in-game purchases to get the full version if you find it worthy. It is hard to enjoy VR with others. Using Chromecast to mirror the screen to a TV looked very promising, until I found out that it cast the sound to the TV and not the headphones. Then, after about 5 seconds in the game, the video would freeze for external viewers but continue for the player. No matter the setting I tried, Chromecast would not work for me and my Note 5. I ended up purchasing MirrorOp, which is pricy app, but has made screen mirroring run really smooth, keep the sound in the headphones for the player, and really allowed the external viewers to enjoy the show and “mess” with the player. Having a Bluetooth controller is only required for a few games. Most of them can be controlled with the side touchpad, which once you get used to how touchy it is, works well. However, keeping my arm bent beside my head gets tiring quickly. If you already play controller based video games, having a Bluetooth controller is only natural. The button placement on most of them is very similar to what you would already be used to so they are familiar and easy to use. Having a controller also unlocks some features in apps that you don’t “need” a controller for, such as moving seats in the theater. Sitting in a swivel chair is the easiest way to play. Standing is always an option, but ensure the environment is clear around you and you are able to control vertigo. Some applications allow you to re-center the image, but most lock in the moment you activate the proximity sensor, which could happen from thumb placement or the head strap getting too close. Most of the time, taking it off and then putting it back on in the direction you want to face will re-center it as well. I do wish that some applications would let you force the center so that you could sit back and relax while playing and not forced to sit upright the entire time. There is a fair amount of material out there under the Samsung/Gear VR store, however, Google Cardboard already has so much material available. The Gear VR will not let you play that material by default, however, there is an app that can help with that as well. That app essentially helps unlock more potential for the device. Some of it does not play as smoothly as the material made to run with Oculus, but still gives more options. Overall I feel it was well worth it. I have almost contemplated buying myself a new phone so that I could leave my Note 5 as a dedicated VR screen, but then I realize that I don’t use it that much, especially since the novelty of it has worn down a bit. If only Samsung incorporated a cooling method for the phone I would have rated this higher.

Just thought the quality of these 3d glasses would have more picture quality and video too just don't like

This came free with purchase of my phone. The gear is just not for me. I do plan on giving it to my son.
