Best Buy did a right by using Geek Squad to help customers with services. The team is very bright and does a great job with customer service as well

It's a good idea to get this protection, good price and excellent coverage

This laptop is holding up great after three years. It plays games and runs photoshop, which were my two main ideals with a laptop. I'm also a full time college student and this laptop has been great for that. The only thing I will say is that this laptop is so huge that traveling it is not good. This works best as a desktop. I wish I remembered I had 3 year geek squad protection since a rubber piece is coming off on the bottom of the laptop. It was nice to have that reassurance that I could call the geek squad.

Don't get a computer at Best Buy without this protection! I know it seems like a pricey addition, but if/when your computer breaks or is damaged, you don't have to pay ANYTHING. And if it needs to be replaced, you receive store credit for the full amount you originally paid (to put toward a replacement or whatever you want). When my last laptop bit the dust, I was literally able to get a new laptop with the credit and with the leftover credit after the laptop purchase, I was able to put it toward replacing my fridge that broke. GET THE PROTECTION and don't let it lapse without going and getting any issues that arise with your product fixed or the whole thing replaced. Best investment!

It's about having it and not needing it... but is it lovely to have and need? YES! life happens and thing get broken.

Giving this a 5 star so far for the value, nice addition when buying a new laptop just for the peace of mind and knowing there are several Geek Squad locations. I have not needed to use the service itself yet.

The HP - OmniBook X - Copilot+ PC - 14" 2.2K Touch-Screen Laptop - Snapdragon X Elite - 16GB Memory - 1TB SDD - Meteor Silver- is a great laptop as to performance and excellent battery life. Only two down sides 1. the win11 24h2 Ver will not allow printers to be installed using their own drivers only use the installed ms driver. This means Label printer like from Dymolabel can not be installed as windows will not all its drivers to be inserted into the "list of printer drivers" need to select the printer driver for the physical printer; 2. must manually set the dpi in the printer setting to 600 as the default was 300, in order for bar coding to be printed so scanner can read it correctly. do not use co-pilot so not an issue it was missing.

I used to use geek squad alot in the past but havent since getting it new. I plan to take advantage when i do need help!

Spilt water my laptop and Geek Squad promtly sent it off to repair. Unfortunately it took over a week for them to determine it couldn't be repaired. Good: I got store credit in full Needs improvement: 1. I had to continually track, never got notofications of status changes, 2. I could only go back to the BB Geek Squad location it was dropped off at to finish the process. Which is a huge pain when traveling for work and had no time for the 24-48 process of getting an "exception" from BB. Even more disapointing is the squad members needed prompting even when i scheduled an appointment to close the case.

Very nice fast computer to launch my off to college adventure

I bought the 2-Year Accidental Geek Squad Protection on my Surface Laptop Studio 2 after Microsoft failed to repair a faulty IR camera—three repair attempts, zero fix, and no transparency on what they even tested. Thanks to Best Buy’s protection plan, I filed a claim and got a full refund without ever having to accept another broken replacement. Geek Squad made good on their promise when Microsoft wouldn’t. Highly recommend this plan if you’re buying high-end gear—you never know when you’ll need a real backup.

This laptop is speedy in function, boasts awesome high-def graphics, and fits comfortably on the lap. 5/5 stars.

To start off I bought an ASUS ROG gaming laptop about 10 years ago. I thought the Geek Squad service plan was a good idea just in case. I have dogs and kids and stuff happens...right? So I bought the 3 year total protection plan. Years go by and my laptop started getting an odd glitch in the keyboard. Letters would choose not to work or the cursor would skip back along a line of text and randomly delete work. So I brought it in to have it looked at. They had to send it out to be repaired because the instore Geek Squad was having their authority to make in house repairs taken away. A crime because the Geek Squad in my Best Buy store was made up of techs that knew their stuff and they saved customers a lot of time. Anyway after sending it out to ASUS for repairs 3 separate times after awhile it would start doing the same thing. I received an email from the stores manager asking me to come in and talk about my laptop. I expected to be told that there was nothing that could be done especially because I was past my service contract. When I got into the store the manager handed me a brand new ASUS ROG gaming laptop and an apology for not being able to repair my laptop. He further explained that although I was past the end of my service contract I brought my laptop in initially while I was still under a service contract. It was only because Best Buy and ASUS never fully repaired my laptop the first time that Best Buy was willing to replace my laptop. I know that this review is very long but the story is true and the Geek Squad service contract is VERY MUCH worth it. Thanks again Best Buy!

We purchased a laptop from Best Buy on 7/24/26, and from day one the trackpad didn’t work correctly. Best Buy sent it to the manufacturer, and after three weeks we got it back. The trackpad still wasn’t functioning well, but the computer worked fine when using a mouse. On 9/27/26, my 17‑year‑old son went to the store to show Geek Squad the ongoing issue and ask about options. Instead of troubleshooting or offering solutions, the Geek Squad member exchanged the laptop on the spot. No one told him that accepting this exchange would void the 4‑year warranty I had purchased — a warranty that cost us over $400. Had he been told that the exchange would eliminate the protection plan, he never would have agreed to it. We would have explored other options, especially since the laptop was still usable with a mouse. Between 9/28 and 10/5, we tried calling the store several times. Calls went unanswered, and we were hung up on multiple times after being transferred. When we finally visited the store on 10/6/26, we were told the warranty was now void because of the exchange — an exchange made by a minor who was never informed of the consequences. The acting manager admitted mistakes were made and that other options existed that would have preserved the warranty, yet we were told nothing could be corrected due to “policy.” We were also not allowed to speak with an actual manager. This entire experience has been extremely disappointing. A minor was allowed to make a decision that voided a warranty we paid for, we were given no transparency, and despite acknowledging the errors, Best Buy has offered no resolution. Buyer beware when purchasing electronics and warranties at Best Buy. Customer service seems to be nonexistent, and once they have your money, they do not seem to care.

One of the things I really appreciated when buying the MacBook Air M4 was Apple’s warranty. From day one, I felt completely supported. The coverage is clear, and their customer service has been excellent. I had a question about the charger and they helped me quickly, with no hassle or long waits. Plus, the option to extend with AppleCare+ is a big bonus. Knowing I’m protected against accidental damage or future issues gives me peace of mind. It’s totally worth investing in a device like this when you know the company truly stands behind it.

Value and benefits make this a good idea if you are not tech savvy.

Shipping on this was said to be Dec 9th, and was actually received on Nov 25. I bought this computer to play World of Warcraft, and although this computer may be more than I need, it was the right price at the right time!! This computer took a bit of time to set up but has run flawlessly. The only thing i can't seem to get to work is the Ultimate mode for the GPU on the Armory Crate. It will work for 10 minute and then the screen blacks out. I have not looked into this yet, the Optimized setting is perfect for what I need, and bring new visual life to WOW. The 16gig Ram is perfect, but i may still upgrade to 32Gig. (Most people will upgrade the RAM anyways) The Turbo fan setting is loud, but not annoying at all. The camera is grainy, too bad i no longer work in a call center, I'll never use it....lol Love this computer. Ultimate GPU mode not working is not a that big of a deal for me and none of this was a complaint, i do not feel a need to mark down to 4 stars. Five Stars it is!! If i find a fix for the Ultimate GPU setting, I'll try to update for other bigger gamers that may need it... I set this up myself, and did not have the need to use geek squad as of yet.
