My laptop charger stopped working and its supposed to be covered by this protection plan. When I called, I got transferred to a sales rep who apparently though I didn't know how to use an online shopping tool and that's why I called. After I reiterated that I had called to get my charger replaced, I was placed on another hold and then after another 15 minutes of waiting, the call was disconnected. This was also my second attempt to get through to an agent. I also tried using their call back tool, but only ever received an automated call that told me they hadn't been able to get to me when they said they would. Maybe this works when you can go into the stores, but I've received no actual help or coverage now that I can't get into a store due to covid. Don't bother buying protection from BestBuy, they're not going to cover you when you need it.

Worth the cost of aggravation when things go bad and they always do

Don't get this protect plan if you believe you are going to get your money's worth, which you aren't. I had my laptop for about 8 months when it fell off my bed one night while I was studying late and night and it left a tiny crack and blob of yellow ink in the top left corner. I didn't think it was bad, but I brought it in to the Geek Squad just in case to have it fixed and repaired. They shipped it out, had the screen ordered, and would ship it back to my house. This was supposed to take 2 weeks. A month later, they call me and tell me they aren't going to get a new screen for my laptop because its on back order with no restock date. So they say they will refund me for my original purchase price of the computer. They do that, but then I have no more protection plan. I only used 8 months of the 3 year protection plan and they wouldn't give me anything back for the 2 years and 4 months I still had. That was $259 for 3 years and I get none of that back. And best of all, the laptop I got 8 months ago was on sale, so if I wanted to get the same computer with the refunded money, it would have been a $150 up-charge, with no protection plan! I would have had to pay another $259 for another 3 years!! I am doing just fine now with my non-protected up-charged laptop. Just don't get this plan if you think they will fix or protect your laptop, because they won't.

Recommend this geek squad protection since it covers more than the standard manufacturer warranty.

Best service ever when you have a question or need help!

I’ve only used this one time over the last 10 years (and 4 lap tops). It’s not worth it if you have an Apple product and purchase Apple Care. The one time I did need it, there was a problem with my 5 month old Asus’ BIOS and I couldn’t fix it myself. It was kind of a hassle to use the service and I still had to pay out of pocket for the fix needed.
