Got a full refund (Bestbuy Gift card) for TV that went out after 3 years of ownership because Best Buy refused to repair or replace the TV. Unfortunately can't replace the TV for the cost I paid in 2019 (Paid $250 with $100 off, new TV will be $400+$80 for another 5 year protection plan). Still don't regret buying this plan but still feels like I got bent over the barrel in the end.

So I wanted to protect my 55" Samsung TV. I was told it covers EVERYTHING. It doesn't. LCD screen cracked internally. Geek Squad shows up and say it's not covered. WTH?!?! That's not what I was told, not what I paid for. Now even cancelling the plan is a pain. Just give me my money back. From now on, I'll buy online and NOT Best buy

I Bought the protection plan on my new 52 in curved LED TV. Salesman said it covers everything. Well my TV is only 4 months old...still owe $1000 and the screen has micro crack(can't see the crack)and the LED screen internally has lines up and down the screen and it has a 4x5 in black/grey spot. They won't cover it because the cause is external. My grandson swung his feather light jacket over his shoulder and the zipper must if hit the screen. When I called the Geek Squad to set up an appointment for them to check it out she told me it would cost me $99 to come if it wasn't an internal issue. I told her that I was told by the sales man the protection plan covered everything and she agreed that they say that but it isn't true. Whats up with that??

    Physical unfairness

it works great if you have any electrical problems but if it comes to a physical problem then they will not help you which is really messed up because you pay for this product so you expect to get full service when purchasing a protection plan to go with it!

It’s frustrating that you buy this expensive plan then use it and it’s a one time only deal. So when they swap out a replacement you have to buy another plan.

It is always smart to have the protection plan however this one maxes out at 160 dollars or so. If it brakes you send the TV in to have it worked on and they send it back or issue you store credit.

Over priced for warrenty when other places sell tvs and it comes with the warrenty. Then after purchase of the warrenty, i was supposed to recieve and emailed receipt never got it, had to reach back out to request it. Even after requesting they said dont worry about the receipt we have it in our system. I should be able to get a receipt for paying 200+ on a warranty

I did not return the tv or the protection plan. I spent over an hour on hold and talking to two different Geek Squad reps trying to correct this. I have no idea who submitted the transaction, but no one at Best Buy is interested. The last Geek squad rep lied to me saying he had re-established the protection plan. Even gave me a phony reference number and told me I would receive an email in 4 days. The email never came and the protection plan is still invalid. The individual I spoke with at the Pueblo Co store said the Geek Squad rep gave me incorrect info just to get me off the phone.

They are understaffed, which means support isn't awesome. The field guys are good, but try calling, it's always a treat.

Although it was great to not have ro pay for the fixing of my TV, and the service men were quick, the shipment of the replacement parts took over a week, and then we had to wait for an appt once it was shipped.

The picture is great. The only problem is the remote. If your not three feet away or closer then it is a struggle for the TV to read your commands. You have to be fairly close for it to change the channel. Otherwise it's great.

Geek squad is a complete joke and a huge waste of money and time. They used to be good. My 12-year-old kid can outsmart them. Don't waste your money, find a kid to help. The kid is smarter and easier to find.

On the fence with Geek Squad warranties

Not really impressed with geek squad. Best Buy always give you this promise (been told many times) that if it breaks, under warranty, they will replace it. Never that easy. Has never happened yet in all the warranties I've had from Geek Squad. They repaired by Chromebook only to have it have the same issues a month later. I figured it wasn't worth bringing in again.

Only supports hardware issues. Useless when I encountered software problems caused by ASUS. There is no reason Geek Squad would need additional charges for software problems outside of a money grab.

My expensive $3000 tv got a whole bunch of dead pixels after 3 months of use and despite having paid over $400 for an extended warranty, They will ignore your claim and force you to keep calling them over and over and waste a good chunk of your life for months and you will still get nowhere. They will tell you its up to the manufacturer and the manufacturer (in this case Sony), will deny you.
