Frustration
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The customer service rep I consulted in the store (Stacey D) is extremely helpful and very personable. He made the experience fun. However, when dealing with Geek Squad services, I found myself very frustrated. They seem to ALWAYS be short staffed, resulting in the only way you are able to get service, is to make an appt. For me, this is a special trip to the store. I also rec'd inaccurate information from the online chat function that is critical in the health and performance of my laptop. I will not be recommending Geek Squad to any of my family or friends. This is very disappointing to me, as I have ALWAYS trusted Best Buy.

It’s nice to hear Stacey D was able to provide you with a pleasant experience at the store, however, we’re disappointed to hear your subsequent experience with Geek Squad didn’t go quite as well. They could not fix my computer.

After they said they fixed it I brought it home and within a half hour it was blue screening again. I returned to the store and they could not find anything wrong. I took it to another Best Buy store and they told me I needed a new hard drive. Since my hard drive is attached to the mother board, they did not have the tool to remove it. It would need to be sent back to Kentucky for an undetermined additional charge. I said,”Forget it. I’ll take it somewhere else.” This whole process took about 4 weeks with no good results and a lot of frustration.

Geek Squad does good work, but poor scheduling

But the requirement to schedule a simple drop-off and pick-up of the device was inconvenient considering how far away we live from the store. You need to be much more flexible in the scheduling arrangements.
