Geek Squad service excellent.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The team listened well to my needs, requiring repair of three computers, worked punctually--far faster than the repair team of the main competitor in our area, briefed me on needs, were cordial throughout, kept me informed about progress, and delivered excellent results. Very pleased since my company needed to be 'up and running" without delay. Good concept going with the Geek Squad, but importantly, run well by the people in it. A rare combination these days.

Tech Support available if needed

However, the repair they did on my computer was completed well, and it runs much better than before, with all the malware, spyware, and other garbage that gets onto the computer from the internet.

Computer Help When Most Needed

It has been well worth it to be able to contact Geek Squad and have THEM remotely login and solve my computer issues. They have done a great job. Every now and then it takes a second or third try to solve something, but that is with my oldest computer that needs to be replaced soon anyway. For $99 / year for three computers, this has been a great value for our family!

Not Extremely Impressed

The person who helped to set up their computer was great however when we also took our Mac to the store for help they were unprofessional and unhelpful enough to wipe out all past positive experience.

However, I would prefer to pay for services used rather than pay for the potential services implied in a 2-year contract. Will I need them? Won't I need them? It's like the insurance industry. :(

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The email renewal reminder needs to clarify that it is indeed for renewal of Geek Squad Protection Plan (for servicing computer problems) so it doesn't get confused with your Hardware Protection Plan renewal. That is what happened to me but luckily Chuck, rectified it for me.

Good Service

Took about 6-7 minutes but seemed much longer when just standing there waiting on "someone" to come "out" with no one else interfacing with me at all.

Account management poor

I had to sign up for new coverage and learned months later that even though I had a confirmation number, our coverage was inactive. I had to sign up again. This took 2-3 hours of my time, and wasted Best Buy's payroll time also. Best Buy needs to improve their automated systems, headset quality, billing efficiency, and waiting times. These are all technical areas, and you should have the best in order to offer the most efficient service to your loyal customers.

great for those not so computer savy

I took it to Best Buy and The Geek Squad. The technician spent 15 to 20 minutes looking at my laptop and found viruses. I purchased the service plan and handed my computer over. I was told one week. I had my computer back in three days. My laptop runs better and faster now than when I bought it. I would highly suggest you buy this product to take care of all your electronic devices.

They were all very friendly and easy to deal with

Most of all however is that you get a year of protection for either one or three systems depending on what you pay for.....Would love to see the overall cost lowered........

Excellent bargin for the price

Rather a ton of money on the repair I got the Tech Support membership at a better price when I bought it with my new pc purchase and it not only covers my new pc for a year but it covered the labor on the repair of my laptop and I still have the option to add another unit onto the same coverage for no extra cost. It's definitely a great program.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i was not excited that they did not tell me to backup any thing on my computer when i called because if they had to do it they would charge 100.00 witch i thought was out rages. so after them having my laptop for 4 days i had to go back to store and pick up backup my stuff go back to store then they had my laptop for 4 more days. i am hoping that every time something is wrong with my lap top the issue is not going to be to have to restore it back to original computer setting other wise i could be doing that myself. I did have them work on speed on my other lap top and that is running good.

When they told me about this product I realized that I can get up to three electronic computers serviced for the price of $199.00. I have already updated both of my laptops and now still have the ability to bring back one more. I may even have my mothers pc fixed since they said you can give one to someone else. They were very professional and courteous as well. It was a pleasure to deal with the Geek Squad.

Great Geek Squad Support

The agent was able to simplify and explain very intelligently what was going on with my computer. As a novice, that is important to me. He very patiently explained how to use the computer correctly in the future to avoid this problem happening again. He stayed working with me for almost 3 hours and was as courteous at the end as he was in the beginning. This policy is a great bargain for the service you receive.

This computer I decided to try it......now, I don't jimmy with it - I just call and BB Geeks take over! So easy and quick - and, I have never been treated like an idiot. Now, when something doesn't seem right or if I'd like it to work differently, I call and let someone else handle it!

Convenient

I used Geek Squad for my old computer and did not have any real problems with the service. I hope I won't need to call them but having it I know I have a backup is something does break or stop working.

The service agent at the local Best Buy understood my problem and was able to resolve the issues with the exchange of computers, as well as arrange for a tutorial session before I left the store with the new computer.

However, it seems that the agent who I first conversed with about Geek Squad services could have better explained to me what the service entailed. I purchased a new hard drive for my computer because the old one was defective. This entailed backing up all of the data which was on the old hard drive before the new one was installed. Then, when the new hard drive was installed and I retrieved the machine, the data had not been replaced as it was when I gave the machine to the Geek Squad. As a result, I had to return the machine to Geek Squad to have all of the programs replaced as they were. It was not first explained to me what the entire process entailed to replace a hard drive.
