    Decent service for a novice computer owner

    We took our laptop for service after repeated BSOD. Ran all sorts of anti-spyware but didnt find anything. Checked drivers etc. Everything fine. Apparently there was a virus infection which the installed anti virus suite didnt detect. They fixed it.

    I am a bad one for playing on PC while eating. I rarely dusted my keyboard. No I have confidence it will last a bit. The cost of the one-time cleanup was almost as much as a service agreement. At least I got the service agreement for another year in case I gotta do this again sooner rather than later. You can wait til you really need the help then buy the agreement - no point buying it when your puter is like brand new.

    This is a new computer. I am 83 yrs. old & many things are confusing. When I called Geek Squad they took the time to help me without making me feel dumb.

    I believe this service is essential for someone who is not particularly tech savvy or who does not have the know-how or the patience to look up articles to find specific answers. Or who did not grow up in the computer age. Or who does not have experienced coworkers available for help on the spot. I cannot recommend The Geek Squad highly enough. They provide expert advice when you need it. Totally worth the expense.

    I asked for viruses cleaned out. I got more than I wanted done! My desktop was rearranged and things deleted. My "favorites" were alphabetized. My "pictures" have the same icon for ea. pictures and I don't know how to put it back like it was. I use my pictures alot and now I can't go there! I was really angry when I got my comp. back. It wasn't my comp. anymore. I will bring it back after I cool down!

    Bought coverage for grandson's computer

    I purchased a Toshiba laptop for my grandson's HS graduation gift and I included 1 year of Geek Squad support for him. I have this coverage on my home desktop and my laptop and it is GREAT. Husband has gotten several viruses on the desktop and all I had to do was unhook and hand it over to the young folks at our local Best Buy and in a couple of days it was fixed up just fine. That is what I wanted for my grandson.

    We always purchase maintenance agreements and protection plans for any large ticket items we purchase and have always received very clear, knowledgeable explanations of the plans. We have never had any problems with or have never been let down with their coverage during the duration of their cycles and have always been confident with Best Buy's service and their technician's expertise in the products they sell.

    Overall, I like the service. I think it is a bit too pricey but it is not bad to have if you are not good at troubleshooting big software problems.

    I am very frustrated with Windows 8 and would never have bought it if I had known how different it is. It's like learning a new language! The tech support help has been terrific. Very patient and was able to talk me through a problem I had. I wish I had more time to devote to learning this operating system. I find myself going back to my old computer very quickly so I can accomplish my mission in a timely manner.

    Being a relatively inept computer user, I was very impressed with the Geek squad people that I have had contact with. Whether In the store or on the phone ,I found all those I dealt with to be courteous, thoughtful, and patient with someone not familiar with technical jargon. They all spoke clearly and slowly when necessary. I was impressed with knowledge displayed by these people. Thanks so much for the help .

    Whenever I needed help, Geek Squad agents were always available. Whatever problems I was having with either my tablet or my PC, were fixed by the Geek Squad. I had to leave my tablet and my PC at the store for the Geek Squad to work at solving the problems I was having. The agent working with my device consistently kept me informed of the progress being made and let me know when my device was ready for pickup.

    The person who serviced my computer knew what they were doing. I feel they did a good job on solving the issue I was experiencing with my computer. I was not so happy when I discovered that they had given me the wrong power cord for my computer.

    Its a good program and well worth the money when you use your mobile devices for business or record keeping. Having to rely on the paper notes for three days while your unit is in repair can be a real inconvience. especially while traveling.

    I found out that I had gotten some malware on one of my laptops & when I brought it in they downloaded software to take care of it & also to take care of two other laptops at my house.

    if you ever get a computer virus, you know that sometimes they can be a real beast to clean off your system. I had a trojan on my computer and couldn't get it off. My antivirus was worthless as far as helping things. I got on my phone and dialed the number for the geek squad and they did a remote assistance thing online... the guy was courteous, quick, very smart, and fixed it in no time flat. a dream come true.

    Having the peace of mind knowing that it was set-up correctly by professionals is great. Also knowing they will stand behind their work and take care of the system for a year is good. I don't have an IT guy at home, so I rely on the Geek Squad!

    I cannot begin to say enough good things about the entire Geek Squad Staff! At River Park Best Buy in Fresno CA. my five year old laptop was a piece of junk when i handed it over to the staff what i got back was a like new laptop that functions better than the day i bought it....You get what you pay for with these guys repair is 3 months ago and it still runs fine as the day i picked it up. Thanks for A+ Service!

    I had a regular computer guy , but he recently left to do other things and i was a bit concerned because it seems to happen at least once a year that I need my computer fixed, or de-bugged! I was happy to see this service offered by Best Buy.

    Our Florence KY Best Buy store is fortunate to have Noah on their team. He is knowledgeable, courteous and thorough, patiently walking us through the steps and alternatives for our computer needs. We did not find this to be true in other establishments. We seriously shopped for a solution to our computer problems. Best Buy was way out front with Geek Squad. Our computers are working fine now...thanks Geek Squad

    Most PC issues I can fix myself. When it comes to a brand new PC being a lemon and needing to replace it, they want you to have tech support before they will even talk to you. Tech hasn't done anything for me except be a middle man between myself and the manufacturer. Best Buy tech support didn't know how to fix it and refused to try. Purchasing tech support is a complete waste of money, unless you don't want to deal with the manufacturer directly, you can have Best Buy do it for you. Is it worth it? If you have absolutely no experience with computers, don't know how to use antivirus software and need to clean it up or install anything, then tech support is just for you.
