    I am not sure how to judge a filter. It fit into the machine as advertised and seems to be filtering bad stuff out of the air (when I can keep my 3 yr old away from the buttons).

    Summerville SC more dust and other stuff in the air than any other place I have ever lived. Cleaning the air you couldn't get a better air cleaning system. I bought the extra filter just to have it on hand.
