    Hitchcockian Vibe

With an opening abduction/kidnapping sequence with echoes of Trayvon Martin, the dissonances and incongruities grow as we follow our black protagonist Chris (played by Daniel Kaluuya) in his initial meeting with his white girlfriend's (played by Allison Williams) parents. With an underlying theme of how blacks are treated in white society, more nefarious actions are underfoot in a slow reveal. A comedic turn is provided by Chris' best friend Rod Williams (played by Lil Ray Howery) in juxtaposition to the increasingly disturbing experiences of Chris.

Originally saw this in the theater and man almighty, I was on the edge of my seat and knew immediately that this would be a must have to add to my movie collection. The Director did a phenomenal job with the screenplay, the casting of the actors and actresses for the characters they played. Slow start but before you know it, you’re entwined in the movie, case closed! If you love a great suspense, mystery / drama, then you will appreciate this movie! Pick it up when it’s on sale at Best Buy, you won’t be disappointed!

This one surprised me when I originally watched it in the theater. I wasn't expecting to like the movie so much. Then my conundrum was why no US release on 4K UHD Blu-ray in the US? I ended up pre-ordering a French 4K release, but then a US date got announced and I waited. Unbelievably Best Buy had this title on sale for $17.50 the day it was released. Take my money Best Buy! I was happy to buy such a great 2017 title on the 4K format! It's a Top 10 title in my list of favorite films this year. What more can I say?

What's to say that hasn't been said of GET OUT? This is an ALMOST hugely original movie. Don't get me wrong--this is a fantastic and fun watch BUT there's a smaller film made 2 years before GET OUT called THE INVITATION that handles similar themes with more subtlety and grace. GET OUT tells you before the movie begins how to feel based on the title alone whereas THE INVITATION is far more seductive. GET OUT is a must see. It broke records and set new standards. Witness film history and then see THE INVITATION.

When this movie came out I was skeptical. Jordan Peele (of Key and Peele) was unproven as a filmmaker and there was no guarantee that he could deliver a good horror film, but he exceeded all expectations and made an AWESOME film instead! It's probably not for everyone, especially if you are overly sensitive to racial topics, but I felt it was a breath of fresh air and I respect the boldness on display, especially in this day and age when racism is at a another peak. Highly recommended!

    A racial horror movie

This is a horror movie, with startling moments and startling music meant to scare you, and it does scare you. But there's nothing supernatural about the horror, no disfigured monsters crawling out of wells or TVs. The horror is the actions of otherwise normal looking people who have undergone or commit mind control. Race plays a big, if somewhat opaque, role, and sometimes race plays a comedic role. The movie begs to be seen multiple times to figure out just what its intent is.

My favorite horror film from 2017. It was well worth the $4.99 Black Friday sale price. It is a little slow to develop, but the payoff is well worth it with an over-the-top crazy ending. It is not an overly gory horror film. I did see it before all the hype generated so I went into the theater not expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised. Basically, a story about a boyfriend who goes to meet the parents of his girlfriend who live out in the middle of nowhere. At first, everything seems kosher and the parents seem very accepting and friendly. However, things soon take a twist into the bizarre and it turns into a nightmarish visit.

This movie has it all for me. I recently watched it in 4K on my 1 year old Sony 65" OLED TV and it was stunning. I have watched this movie 3-4 times and it still hits the spot. The actor that plays the TSA agent is really really funny. Anyway, this is a classic that will be watched many times.

This is the sleeper hit of 2017 for a reason. More thriller in the vein of twilight zone than horror film, Get Out is a clever, exciting film that presents social commentary but does not deliver it as heavy handed as some films. It's a piece that remains interesting, engaging and even hilarious and does so with an amazing amount of balance that it gives you room to breath and ponder what the ____ is going on? A great surprise that delivered a memorable nail biter.

Like the summary says, Get Out is the genre's best offering in some time. It has a creative, fresh take that terrifies while making you pause to think. In keeping with other Blumhouse titles, Get Out provides timely social commentary that enriches the experience and can start conversations. Jordan Peele's genius is brought to life by outstanding acting performances. This is a critical must-watch film, even if you're not a horror fan.

AWESOME movie. In many ways an updated version of the original Stepford Wives with themes of racism replacing misogyny. Great twists and turns and a satisfying conclusion. I didn't watch the alternative ending because honestly I didn't feel the need. Nice use of humor throughout the movie too. Good balance of scary and funny. Really great performances all the way around from the cast. Finally a "popular" movie that actually lives up to the hype.

My personal pick for best picture of 2017, a smart and engrossing thriller with an excellent blend of comedy and horror. Comparing the 4K disc's picture quality to the regular Hi Def Blu-ray, there is a noticeable difference as the higher resolution makes the picture clearer, while the HDR allows for a more natural dispursion of colors overall.

When you like a person, alot. Usually, the next big step is, maybe meeting their family. I enjoyed this movie. Obviously, alot of important people did, also. Because it has been nominated for a Oscar. Just to be nominated, is a big deal to me. This family has a rude awakening for this guy who is dating their daughter. I won't say any more. I thought this movie was very entertaining. Bravo to all involved in making this movie.

We were in complete awe of this film by Jordan Peele who is best known for his comedy act with Keegan-Michael Key. This film is beautifully filmed and seriously unsettling. The performances, especially by the leads, are phenomenal and it serious draws you in. What is even scarier is that this plot could be taking place in The America of today and that made us sad. But this film is important and a must see!

This is a great movie. The movie seems like a horror movie but more so suspense. It will have to thinking throughout the movie. There are a lot of double entendre. If you want to watch a great movie this is it. If you’re one of the few people that have not watch this movie, please do. I highly doubt you will be disappointed.

Jordan Peele's one of a kind directorial debut is well developed and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the credits roll. Character's intentions are kept at bay so when the twists come, you don't really expect them. Great acting and a horror story with racial undertones that hasn't really been told yet - at least not to this magnitude. Very memorable and powerful scenes of real-to-life scenarios taken to the extreme.

I avoided this in theaters because horror movies don't scare me and horror-comedies annoy me. That was a mistake on my part. This movie is sly, witty, tense, dark and has quite a lot on its mind. Sure, it can be enjoyed on its entertaining surface -- but you can dig deeper. The presentation is solid. Good picture, good audio -- especially for such a low budget feature. The director's commentary has some great tidbits. The disc also includes many deleted scenes and a darker alternate ending, all of which also feature commentary discussing why the director chose to leave them out.
