and accurate, but very very ponderous. this is the 2nd part of a trilogy that was never completed.

git this for my husband who loves history movies and books and he got me to watch it with him.

Husband is a history buff. Said the acting was okay, some areas of dialogue were questionable.

The 2nd half of Gettysburg was better than the first half. The battle scenes were amazing.

I have received nothing of that movie , I want what happened

Have not viewed yet. Looking forward to having things slow down, to enjoy

Good Movie story about the civil war, worth watching

I don't know the details of the making of this movie (if the Union decided it didn't want to spend any money on it, or...?), but this movie "IS A DISASTER!!!" With an All Star cast, a MAJOR bit of America's history and a script that could have went on FOREVER..., this was shot POORLY (a Producer can only do "just so much", then it HAS to be in the Directing). They just didn't go as far as they should have- it has a feel like "they tried to build a MASSIVE ship with just some pieces of scrap wood that was laying around" (and the "overly Southern" feel of it didn't help either- it took away from what was REALLY going on).

A bit drawn out on 2 CDs, but factual for historical buffs on the real life complexities during the 1860s & the command between officers & their men various for a human interest standpoint vs straight bore of history.

Have been to gettysburg. This movie didn't focus on the battles but rather on the generals. Also there are several discrepancies to what really happened.

Pretty blah film...probably only recommended for killing time in high school History classes...kinda where it belongs.

ok, was not that great as the dialogue was kinda of corny

Every seen in the movie seemed as though you’re trying to grasp what’s going on. Most seens have little to no talking, it was just dry. It had potential to be a good movie, but there needs to be some kind of stimulation. My daughter is obsessed with the Civil War and is very knowledgeable. So we were excited when we bought the DVD, but greatly disappointed!

Heard mixed reviews of this movie. Haven t viewed it.

I love history so it was great to see what happened then and how we became the US of A.

Not what I thought. Don't buy real boring.........

Ordered it online and it came fairly quick. However, when I opened the package, the entire top of the case was all broken up.

It seems they did not spend very much money making this movie. It seems a little hokey in some spots
