Feature: This movie is absoluetely stunning. It's smart, has a fascinating philosophy, great acting, amazing direction and a beautiful score. Video: Not perfect, this being an early DVD, but the hazy look actually provides nice mood for the movie. Audio: The acting is great both in Japanese and in English, but its somewhat unfortunate that the English is treated to 5.1 surround sound while the Japanese is left in stereo. Bonus Features: Neh.

Wanted to brush up on this classic since I haden't seen it in a while so I searched BestBuy.com and found that my local store had it for only $7.99 on Blu ray. I wanted to see the remake but needed to remember this anime classic. So basic blu ray case (not the steelbook) with the remastered movie was good enough for me and the price was right!

It was great to see this classic released on blu-ray. I did not mind the cgi animation added to some of the scenes, and would not have minded if they entire film had been redone in the cgi. If you are a fan of Masamune Shirow or Ghost in the Shell, then I would recommend this blu-ray to you. My only complaint is that there really could have been more extras on this blu-ray edition.

Ghost in the shell is a good movie for a lot of reason one is you can wach it over and over and still enjoy the action and story.The story follow Section 9 as they are trying to track down the puppet master.A person that can hack into anyone at anytime.The movie never lets up even when the movie end you feel like waching again the next day.

I already own previous versions of this film and bought this steelbook for the packaging, so this review will be about that. The steelbook packaging that I purchased at Best Buy is actually a re-release of the exact packaging sold in the UK 2 years ago. This was very good news for steelbook collectors who didn't want to spend extra money by importing, or who have missed out on that release.

Great movie with great packaging and the best thing is the price, is much lower than the norm.

The transfer looks great and the movie is amazing as well. Definitely recommend picking this up.

This is the 25th Anniversary Edition version. It's great movie and this is the version you should get. GITS 2.0 tries to add and update the CGI and it's just wrong. Get this version or Mondo Steelcase with this version inside.

Very amazingly well done Anime. Very thought-provoking and great action scenes. Not your average anime and great voice acting and effects, even with the English cast. Recommended to anyone, not just anime fans.

If you're a die hard fan of the original GitS anime then you'll probably see this and pick it up like I did expecting a huge upgrade from the original. Well, you won't get that. The movie doesn't look that much different than if you were to pick up the original on dvd. Aside from a few cgi scenes that were added in, which throw you off the plot, the movie is pretty much the same. Honestly it would probably have been for the best just to leave them out all together and enhance the original scenes quality. At times the voice acting can seem cheesy and off key. If you see someone have they're arm broken or getting shot at you expect them to get a little loud, instead they keep it pretty low key in this version. Granted if you're like me, you probably would rather just throw on the subtitles and listen to it in japanese.

I really enjoyed this movie. Honestly a good starting point to get a taste of the Major's universe. WAY BETTER then the movie that just came out in 2017.

An excellent story of the future of the Net, humans, cyborgs, and robots. Politic intrigue and espionge and waht the two hold in the future. If you like the matrix you would find this intersting

This is considered one of the best anime movies ever made, and for good reason! The animation is some of the best I have seen. The plot/story is top-notch. I would recommended to buy this ASAP!

I had never watched this movie until a friend of mine recommended it and i must say this movie is amazing, very entertaining.

if you haven't seen this yet then do yourself a favor and pick it up...just not the 2.0 version

I thought this movie was awesome! Bought it on a whim and now I'm happy to own it.

Great movie. Glad to have it on 4k Blu-ray to experience this way.
