As a Sci Fy fanatic I really liked this one. Hot actress too!

I saw Ghost In The Shell at a film festival when it debuted in the United States, and it was awesome. I also liked the addition of digital animation graphics with 2.0. This live-action adaptation recreates all of the classic, iconic scenes while dropping the philosophical monologues. The existential exploration is lost in this adaptation, but corporate themes are retained. Some of the technical aspects are updated to reflect changes in technology that have happened since the original was released. Overall, I think the casting and production/direction choices were excellent, and I hope that a sequel is forthcoming. I highly recommend this movie for fans of the original who also liked 2.0. For those with teens or other sensitive audiences, there are no nipples or nipple silhouettes in this adaptation, accommodating Western cultural norms.

This is very much unlike the cartoon version in terms of profanity and nudity! In this film there is very little swearing, and no nudity unless you consider a skin tight outfit Johansson wore for this film nudity. The main issue is the violence and shootouts, but it's done in a very tame way. The movie reminds me more of a superhero movie then anything. I can't explain how, but it's just one of those films you have to watch to know what I'm talking about. If your kid has a violent past, I wouldn't recommend you show this, otherwise, it's not a big deal. And the story is very interesting! This is a movie I put in my top 5 movies of all time, and I've watched it numerous times. Two thumbs up to the sky!

Not a big GitS fan, but I did see the original. They decided to skew the plot so it centers around the major's identity before she became fully prosthetic, which may have been a good decision, after many saw the original and did not understand the plot. There are a few moments where they paid homage to the original, but they also put their twist on things as well. Doubtful they will do a sequel but who knows. The digital effects were good, but the audio was awesome. I had it turned down pretty low and my sub was kicking. Very satisfied with the audio, just wished the movie was a little better

It's a crapshoot if a movie from a video game is going to be any good. The movie could have delved deeper into the meaning of being alive and personhood, but this isn't that kind of flick. As an action movie, it's not bad. As a gumshoe flick, a bit noir, it's fun. Scarlett is always a pleasure for me. She likes subtlety and a bit of snark. That works for me too. I only buy movies I can watch again and again, so I've bought a great piece of entertainment. The quality of the video output is just fine. It looks good on my 4K tv. It's like all of this is going on outside your window.
