It's hard to make a good cyber/punk movie. Even after The Matrix, but Ghost in the Shell did do a good job. My only gripe is it gave a full back story the Major. It took away some mystery about her, but that's okay, it's still a good flick.

Great movie! Scarlett Johansson does a great job and the world in very immersive. The story feels a little rushed at the end but great adaptation and take on the anime of the same name.

I expected a live action remake of the original anime. This movie had elements of that and SAC 2nd GIG in order to tell the Major's origin story. There are some details purists won't like. But, fans of the manga and animes will probably like it.

The movie may not be a good representation of Ghost in the shell. However I am a huge fan of Ghost in the Shell therefore it was a must have. The steel book case is very well done. Wouldn't have minded it being embossed. Would recommend to buy.

I have always liked Ghost in the shell (GITS), from the manga to the anime. I had my doubts about a Hollywood live-action. But I enjoyed this version of GITS quite a lot. It certainly is not perfect, but I feel is a good take on this story.

It's a fun movie to just sit back and watch. I'm an avid fan of the original anime so this live action adaptation does not deliver the same brilliance as its source material, but it is still a good flick to sit back and relax to.

This movie is not for everyone. I feel it does have cheesy parts and weird pacing but the music and visuals are just amazing. Overall I think the movie is good, I love the glossy steelbook and will easily be watching this movie multiple times.

I was really shocked as how good this movie really was after the poor reviews that it received at the box office! Really enjoyed the vision of the director and design team used to bring this classic almost 20 year old comic to the big screen!

This a good action packed thrill ride sci-fi movie. Filled with plenty of colorful scenes and wild and amazing creatures. A must see movie that will have you begging for more from the beginning to the end. Sci-fi fan must add to collection.

Basically, you have to detach yourself from any connection to the anime. It's the same story line, but they went for the PG13 rating and it shows. The action was good and Scarlett Johansson is very good as major. I do recommend this movie.

The visuals in this movie are stunning. If you have a nice 4K TV, the opening scene will make your jaw drop. I never saw the anime version of this character, so I had no expectations going in. I thoroughly enjoyed it for what it was.

I waited for blu ray to watch this movie due to the bad reviews it was getting in the theatre. I thought the movie itself was very good and the visuals were amazing. Any sci-fi fan should watch this movie. The steel book looks great too.

I thought it was a better movie than some of the reviews led me to expect. It probably could have used a bit more character detail/development to expand the main characters and Section 9. I think it was better than the original anime.

This was actually better than I expected... I don't usually have high hopes for movies based on anime or games but this was actually better than what I expected! 4k looks amazing!

some people who saw this in the theater just didn't like this movie. They had no connection to anime so they didn't understand it. I was shocked at how well anime style was captured from the original movie to this live action one. I'm glad I have it

Great actress who did a phenomenal job in this unrealistic to current life movie. Lots of action and drama but so far fetched that I was not quite ready for it. Good movie, makes you engage and think about the future of humanity. Enjoy

This is a terrific movie, perhaps underappreciated. It is no less stunning on 4k UHD Blue-ray. As more movies are shot in a native resolution to port to UHD and also HDR formats, we will be the beneficiaries of one of the most important leaps in viewing at home since flat panel displays were popularized. Don't hesitate to get this movie!

This movie does a great job of bringing to life the cybernetic universe where this story takes place. It fully immerses the audience into a techno dystopia, beautifully tragic and reminiscent of the setting for Blade Runner. This movie is my guilty pleasure.

I've been a fan of the Ghost in the Shell anime for some time and was skeptical about the live action version. It turns out the movie is actually preety good. I found the 3D disc on sale and have no regrets about picking it up.

Fairly weak as SF. The corporate villain was absurdly hands-on. The graphics are a little too reminiscent of Blade Runner, but not as good, despite decades of CGI advances. Haven't had the opportunity to watch the UHD version yet.
