The anime is much more sophisticated, but this film is still interesting and worth a buy for fans. It's also an easy watch for viewers that are unfamiliar with the anime movie and series. Story is good and audio/video are excellent.

This movie i was told was not great, but i love the anime so i had to give it a shot. It was surprisingly good. I was not bored, and the female lead character was not written so annoying. She was strong yet vulnerable. Not girl power every scene, always one upping male characters, and shoving in your face that she is better than men.

I loved the art on this steel and thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I have no emotional attachments to the original Anime, so I was able to go into this without any preconceived notions and I found it to be an enjoyable Sci-Fi flick.

This movie, Ghost in the Shell is a lot better than critics gave in reviews. Scarlett Johansson gives a great acting performance as an emotionless cyborg. The action sequences are great. Relatively faithful to the source material.

I actually enjoyed this movie. I know Scarlett Johansson isn't Asian, but does it really matter? She is an amazing actress and played the part right. Great action scenes. Mostly true to the anime. Plus, she is hot in this movie.

I read that most die hard fans of the anime were disappointed with the movie mainly because of casting. I didnt let that deter me from watching it. The story seemed solid and the effects were top notch. Very cool looking steelbook

I never watched the Anime versions of this story but I was always curious. I didn't really know what to expect but I was really interested. I wasn't disappointed in the least. Great story, great cast, great effects. Worth a watch.

Pretty good film, but of course not as good as the anime released in 1995, one year before that insane Wrestling match when the undertaker threw mankind off hеll in a cell, and plummeted sixteen feet through an announcer's table.

I really liked this movie. I don't know why it gets average reviews. It is not full on Japanese actors but, if you can get past that, it is very entertaining. I enjoyed it more than 90% of the Ghost in the Shell anime versions.

You can easily follow thos plot and not be a kapanese anime fan. Fantastic graphics although Scarlett Johansen is clearly not Asian. But that adds to the mystery of the story. It is Blade Runner Girl Gone Wild only zero nudity, More teen oriented but the kill level is John Wick death levels. Keeps moving to the very end.

I am a big fan of Scarlett Johannsen and have seen all of her movies and I must say she is a phenomenal actress and in this movie she really brings her character to life. This movie has a great story line and the visual graphics are put together amazingly well and action packed from begining to end. Another must see movie!!!!!

I really think the critics missed it on this one. After multiple viewings its easy to see the direction this film is trying to take. While it's tough to remake a classic, this film stands well on it's own merits as well

this movie should have done better at the box office - so good - even if you are not a fan of the original anime (I was not)... too bad the steelbook did not come with the 3D disc - that would have made it that much better

This film started strong, it had an almost shot for shot recreation of the original anime, but half way through it falls short of anything remarkable, instead becoming a generic who am i plot and climax. good, not great

I really liked this movie. Looks great on blu-ray. I don't know the anime but my friends who do love the anime love this movie too. Great addition to my collection.

Overall, decent remake of an overly convoluted anime. While influential, the original GITS has not held up well and this movie suffer from some of the same issues. still work seeing and worth buying if price is right.

Instant fun. The movie stayed as close to the original Manga film as possible with many scene references to the anime. Great action with the question of our ever evolving technology. Weird how the original anime came out in 95 at the start of the Internet and how it still relates to the issues of today

Ghost in the Shell is yet another action movie that's right in Scarlett Johansson's wheelhouse and, as usual, she's excellent. The UHD/HDR version is, even with a dark atmosphere, very detailed and the bright colors that are there stand out. This is a movie that will hold up on repeat viewing and is a worthwhile purchase.

I am a fan of the GITS SAC and SAC 2nd Gig series. I went into this sour but when you see the movie, I changed and I think if you ignore the noise about the lead actress and focus on the story, you will have a good movie.

This is an excellent movie, it’s sort of like a technologically advanced Aeon Flux. I loved Scarlett Johansson in this role. The character was well developed and she did excellently in the situation she was placed in, considering all things. I loved it!
