Love the original Anime move and this one was not a disappointment either.

Speaking as pure cinema, the movie isn't a total failure that fans of the original anime/manga make it out to be. Does it deviate from the source material? Yup. But I understand a mainstream movie studio wanting things to appeal on a mainstream level, so changes don't tend to bother me. There are some very intriguing concepts brought forward, but the execution doesn't succeed in the same respect as the visuals. Beautiful, bright, colorful effects and cinematography pop extremely well (in 4K especially). Other genre classics like Blade Runner and Robocop did it better, but don't write this one totally off. Worth at least one viewing.

Beautiful and fun movie, never into the manga but loved this movie

The movie repeats several times that, Pieces of the majors memory peek through which she clings to, to help her find the truth. It is our actions that defines us. These abstract pieces helps the Major. She has big questions about the value of her humanity. And it's when applying that human side of herself that she makes the best choices. For example, she purposely puts herself in the way of an explosion to protect her partner. And she comforts a woman who she thinks might be the mother of the girl she used to be. The graphic struggles that she overcomes makes the movie intriguing as well as entertaining.

The steel book is a beauty to behold. The had quality is superb

It's clear to say that this movie isn't for everyone, especially for those who are brand new to this franchise since this movie was based off all the previous anime films and series that came before it, especially the 1st Anime movie. I only watched the 1st anime movie that came out in the 90's and I really enjoyed it and so enjoyed this movie even more since they added much more to this film that wasn't in the 1st anime film. As for the 4k HDR, it was done gorgeously and wouldn't recommend it any other way. I'd say rent it 1st to check it out before you buy if you're new to it, if you're a fan just buy it. LoL.
