Pros Aero 15 • Fingerprint scanner • Webcam • Sd card reader • Thunderbolt 4, has a transfer of 40GPS, can connect a lot of devices, and even use desktop graphics cards when the RTX 3060 isn’t good enough. • 4k oled 100% DCI-P3 its an amazing screen that’s pre-calibrated. • Per key RGB • NVEC encoding • Optix rendering and denoise renders almost as fast as a desktop rtx 2080. Look up blender open data and use the blender BMW and classroom render to compare the laptop 3060 and the rtx 2080. • Number pad • Wifi 6 • 105 Watt 3060 sometimes hitting 110 Watts • Cpu can hit 80-90 Watts in games using dynamic boost. When turbo-boosting it can hit 110Watts. • 99 Watt hr battery • Nvidia DLSS • RTX raytracing • Stays decently cool, tweaking it by undervolting the gpu and reducing the max boost tdp of the cpu helps save battery life and keep temps lower. • Low profile design • A thin and relatively light gaming laptop • $1300 with a 4k oled screen that has a rtx 3060 and a I7 11800H. There aren't many laptops beating the price to performance for this price. • Dynamic boost • Windows 10 pro most laptops use windows 10 home Cons Aero 15 • No mux switch, to get 10-30% more performance you must connect an external display using the HDMI ports. The Thunderbolt 4 port doesn’t connect directly to the gpu. Meaning you won’t get a performance increase by connecting an external display to the thunderbolt port. You must instead use the hdmi and mini display port. • Reflective screen, not a problem for me though. • Screen is a bit wobbly due to the hinges not being deep enough. • Only 6GB of ram on the 3060. Some games already use 8 GB of video ram on max settings. Using this laptop for photo scanning and heavy 3d modeling may not be possible due to the lack of video ram. • Battery life lasts about an hour if you game on it. Regular use lasts 2 hours if you don’t do a lot of tweaking. after tweaking the settings, I got 4-8 hours of battery life. The battery lasted around 5-6 hours watching crab rave 10 hours at 720p. I needed to disable windows real-time security, brightness 50% or lower, turn on battery saver, disable background apps. Using intel extreme tuning utility, you can change the TDP of the processor (How much watts are used). Lowering the tdp of the CPU, turbo, and boost will boost battery life. If you need even more battery life, edit the power plan advanced settings, under processor power management, select max processer state. Set it to at use 50% of the CPU's power. Then turn brightness to 0. Doing all of this allowed me to get a good 6-10 hours of battery life. • The 4k 60 fps panel makes it harder to play competitive games. Turning down the resolution to 1080p helps. • The intel CPU and Nvidia GPU take a lot more watts than their AMD counterpart. Meaning if battery life and energy savings are what you need, getting an AMD laptop may make more sense. • The M.2 is 500GB its write speeds are a terrible 2,500 MB/s. Its read speed is a good 5000 MB/s though. Also, 500GB isn't even close to the amount of storage a developer needs. for some projects, I work on I use over 100GB of space. • No cpu undervolting capabilities. Will need to wait for an update from gigabyte. Or wait for someone on bios-mods or win-raid to hack the bios. It is not recommended to mod your bios unless you know what you are doing. • The ram is x16 not x8 meaning worse performance in games and programs. Sometimes it’s a 10-20% decrease in performance compared to x8 ram. This can be fixed by replacing the ram. Also, this problem plagues most recent laptops due to recent chip shortages. • The AI can be annoying switching power plans, brightness, keyboard lights, automatically. To disable it you need to open gigabyte software turn off the ai then click the settings cog and un-check the auto re-enable. As a game developer, 3d modeler, and environment artist this laptop has everything I want. If I keep this laptop, I will need to replace the ram with x8 16GB modules. Then buy at least a 1000GB m.2. Other than that the only thing that makes me hesitant about this laptop is the 6GB of Vram. I need a good amount of Vram when 3d scanning sometimes 8GB of Vram isn’t enough. Creating environments in unreal 4 and 5 also takes a lot of Vram. The only other laptop that could do the things I need for a reasonable price is the asus G15 advantage edition. It has an Rx 6800m with 12 Gb of Vram. I have both laptops right now and will do more testing to decide which is worth keeping.

Gorgeous screen, very premium feel. Unfortunately the rubber feet were improperly put on, making the laptop not sit flat on a table. It rocked back and forth, especially rocking forward when putting palms on palm rest. What a drag, as it's now out of stock. I would have replace it. just returned it instead.

Purchased early as it was a birthday present and did not gift it immediately, it was an open box that was listed as excellent condition, however the screen flickers constantly and a full reimage hasn't solved it. Now it is outside the return window as you only get 15days! Stuck with a lemon laptop

Looks great on spec but full of minor problems

The gigabyte control center software is an absolute nightmare. I don’t want any AI bs, and everytime I turn it off, it would turn itself back on. The rgb lighting on the keyboard is also very laggy, so I just gave up and used pure white. Keyboard is not great, three keys broke off after half month of light use and gaming, and it wasn’t as easy as just popping them back in, I had to use my magnifier and actually put the latch back in place before installing the switch back, and the keys felt mushy at best. The performance is great, the oled looks great in most cases, though there are lots of cases where color banding is extremely obvious to the eyes. The fans cool the system well but is stays very very loud and whinny even the system is under zero to no load. Adjusting the fan curve lower often instantly causes the cpu to down clock into a miserable state and lags the computer. The dust filter at the bottom of the chassis is almost non-existent, after half of months of use my left fan started to have weird noises, I had to open it up and use compressed air to clean out the dust and that solved the problem. But after all the laptop has absolutely great upgradability. It is also super easy to open the case up. The build quality of the chassis is also surprisingly good to the touch, although the front glossy finish is a fingerprint magnet. But the laptop is heavier than what it looks like. I did not have any wifi problem at all. It was always stable.

Love everything about it with the exception of the obnoxious webcam placement above the keyboard (talk about unflattering). Everything else is great and my kids are intrigued by the programmable keyboard lights :-)
