I should have returned this however I am physically challenged and don't leave the house very much. I mainly use this for surfing the web and find it slower than my HP Omen. The customer service is non existant - if you want Gigabyte you have to email them and they might answer after a week. There is no useful manual. The only saving grace is that the speakers are the best I ever had and the graphics are good

This is quite an interesting laptop which was designed to fulfill multiple needs. One is that of a high-power gaming and creator’s laptop. The other is to be a well equipped, general use laptop with reasonable battery life. This was to be done whiles maintaining a medium price point. Does it succeed in checking all these boxes? Here is my take. The build quality is good. The top is metal, the rest is plastic, but it’s solid and attractive. The specs are impressive. There’s an AMD AI 7 350 series processor, 32 GB of high speed RAM, a 1 TB SSD, lots of ports (although no SD card reader), and there’s a discreet NVidia GeForce 5070 GPU with 8GB of memory as well as on board graphics. It sports a 16” WQXGA (2560x1600) IPS screen and very nice keyboard with RGB lighting. As another nod to its gaming side, it’s also upgradable. The RAM can be increased to 64GB, there’s an additional M2 slot for another SSD, and the WIFI card can also be changed. It’s all packed into a relatively slim case and weighs in at just over 4 lbs. This is also a CoPilot+ PC which also sports Gigabyte’s GiMATE AI enhancements. When plugged in, it’s a powerhouse gamer or video processing machine because that’s when the GiMATE system is programed to switch to the Nvidia card. It’s not throttled back by low wattage restrictions and will run at 75 watts. Yes, you could run it on battery, but not for long. As with most gaming laptops, the cooling system also kicks into high when things are working hard. The noise isn’t bad, but it’s noticeable, and there’s a good amount of heat being pumped out. In this mode. When unplugged, it switches to the onboard AMD graphics and balanced or eco mode. This is all controlled through five “Scenario Profiles” in the GiMATE app … Balanced, Game, Creator, Power Saving, or Meeting. That last profile seems unusual until you understand that the AI is controlling more than performance. It also changes camera background, voice and audio calibration, eye contact and privacy settings. It’s amazingly thorough and comprehensive, and all of these can be fine-tuned by the user. It’s worth mentioning that Gigabyte is using MUX switching on the video. That means when the NVidea card is switched off, it disappears from the system and uses no power. When it is enabled, the system uses whichever card is appropriate for the task and program. I ran a few tests to measure performance. In game mode and plugged in, the Novabench score was over 4100. Unigine Heaven showed frame rates well over 200 at full resolution and extreme detail. The GPU temperature peaked at about 83 C. In Eco on battery the Novabench score was 2370, and in balanced mode it was 2707. Those are still well more than enough for most office and home uses. My final take is that Gigabyte accomplished what they were aiming for. The Areos X16 is a great, all-around working laptop for home and office use. However, if you want to do some serious gaming or high-level video processing, it can be a powerhouse and deliver. I personally appreciate and find it refreshings that theirs is essentially no bloatware installed. I have seen some comments that the screen is “only” IPS and not OLED. As someone who has other laptops with OLED displays, I would say this is still a beautiful and bright screen with a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz. Considering all the power and versatility offered, I think the Aeros X16 is a bargain, and worth a hard look if you’re in the market.

Very solid choice for a Windows laptop

TL;DR - the Gigabyte Aero X16 with Ryzen 7 AI 350 processor and Nvidia 5070 graphics is a nearly perfect laptop, only really held back by its lack of VRAM. There is plenty of power to rip through daily tasks, gaming is generally a pleasant experience, and video editing is effortless. Plenty of upgradability is in store, too, thanks to user-upgradeable DDR5 RAM, two SSD slots, and a user replaceable/upgradeable WIFI card. The 5070 is terrific for video editing and plays tons of games well but is held back with both newer and older games. Battery life is overall solid - I managed over 6 hours running Microsoft Office and surfing the web. One USB-C port is not enough USB-C ports, but a built-in gigabit ethernet port is a win. While not perfect, I will happily say the Gigabyte Aero X15 is the best Windows laptop I've used in years. Unboxing and initial setup: While I've experienced more "premium" unboxings, I have to say that no laptop I've ever bought or received was as well protected by its packaging. After removing the laptop from layers or cardboard protection and its cloth packaging, I found the Aero to be extremely premium in fit and finish. There are 3 regular USB ports, 1 USB-C port (more on that later), a gigabit network port, a headphone port, and a barrel jack port for the AC adapter. The cooling vents cover the back side of the laptop, placing those ports toward the middle of the laptop body on the left and ride sides. Windows 11 is about as bloat-free as it can be here with only Gigabyte's GiMate, AMD Adrenaline, and Nvidia GeForce installed. For those who don't want to use a Microsoft account, the OoBE bypass works, but you'll miss out on a free month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Otherwise, setup is fast and easy. Usage: First and foremost, this is the first computer I've used that uses Windows Dynamic Lighting. It's not my favorite RGB lighting manager, but I have to say it's by far the most stable I've used. The single lighting zone is a little disappointing but expected for the price point. For productivity, the Ryzen 7 AI 350 processor is a beast. Anything you want to do in office processes quickly and easily. The keyboard is very comfortable for long-term usage, and the adjustable backlight helps you figure out why you're typing Z instead of X. For video editing, the 5070 gives solid performance for a laptop GPU, allowing DaVinci Resolve to rip through 1080p and 4k editing projects. Topaz Gigapixel also runs very well using the 5070 and gives decent performance using the Ryzen's neural processing unit, especially with denoising pictures. Gaming is a mixed bag. Games like The Last of Us and Black Myth run well at medium to medium-high settings but are close to their limits in terms of hitting the VRAM limitation. Hitting that limitation can drop games from well over 75 fps to under 30 in a hurry. On the other end of the spectrum, games that use 32-bit Physx will not run nearly as well thanks for Nvidia's decision to deprecate 32-bit CUDA. Being that I enjoy games like the Batman Arkham series, Mirror's Edge, and Borderlands 2, this is disappointing to me. There's also the DLSS frame generation feature that I'm disappointed in, as it made all the games I could test it with feel "floaty" for a lack of a better way to describe it; everything felt a little off, even with the latest drivers installed. For the greater majority of games, however, this laptop was great and even ran with desktop cards like the 5060 8GB, 7600 8GB, and A770 16GB in terms of framerates at 2560x1600/1440 and 4k. Hardware notes: I like Gigabyte's count of USB-A ports and that they're well-placed. There's also a headphone port, a HDMI port, a single USB-C port, a network port, and a barrel-jack AC adapter port. No second USB-C is disappointing in this case and I would have liked to see USB-PD charging. However, a network port is something rare on modern laptops so that was a nice surprise. The screen is also a very nice touch. Laptops that go beyond 1080p are harder to come by, and the clarity of the screen definitely helps usage. Colors are crisp, whites are clear, and the screen gets bright. The speakers are alright. They're not particularly loud or bassy, but are decent for video streaming from YouTube or other platforms and will get you by for gaming. Dolby Atmos is good for simulating 5.1.2 surround with a good pair of wired headphones. Battery life is pretty impressive. With the screen brightness set at 40% and and they keyboard backlight on, I was getting around 6 hours of battery life comfortably. The hardware is very upgradeable. RAM is on sticks, not soldered like some other competing laptops. There are 2 NVME slots, meaning you can have one as a game drive, scratch drive (for video editing or photo work), or dual-boot using two SSDs instead of partitions. Even the WIFI card is user replaceable - I swapped in another card and it worked without issue. Disappointments: Honestly, the single USB-C is the only real disappointment. Had it come with a second USB-C and USB-PD charging, it'd think this laptop was near perfection. The only other real problem is gaming on 8GB in 2025, as it doesn't work as well for newer games. Conclusion: Gigabyte really did swing for the fences with this one. The Aero X16 gets a lot of things right. For creatives on Windows, it's a solid choice. For those who want productivity, it's a solid choice. For those who game, this could really use a little more VRAM. Altogether though, you really can't go wrong for the price vs the package. Well done, Gigabyte.

I was thrilled to get my hands on the Gigabyte Aero X16 laptop and couldn't wait to explore its capabilities. This sleek, high-performance laptop is perfect for gamers, designers, video artists, and anyone in need of a reliable, smooth and powerful device. Equipped with an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card, and the Microsoft Copilot system, it strikes a great balance between performance and portability. Running memory-intensive applications was a breeze, and multitasking felt seamless. While the screen isn't OLED, it still delivers excellent visuals with vibrant and stunning colors. Unpacking went smoothly, and once connected to my home internet, it needed multiple Microsoft updates. The keypad was highly responsive, and the keys operated smoothly. I was glad to find that this laptop features a backlit keyboard, as I often work in dimly lit or dark rooms. Key Features: - Processor: AMD Ryzen AI 7 350, 8 cores, 16 threads, boost clock up to 5GHz - Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU, 8GB GDDR7 VRAM, DLSS and Frame Generation support - Display: 2560 x 1600 resolution, 165Hz refresh rate (not ideal for hardcore gamers) - Storage/Memory: 1TB SSD, 32GB DDR5 RAM (expandable) - Ports: 2x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, 1x USB 2.0, 1x USB4 Type-C, HDMI 2.1, RJ-45 Ethernet Pros: - Sufficient for regular gamers, though hardcore gamers might have some qualms. - Advertised battery life of around 10 hours. - Microsoft Copilot integration. - High-performance GPU. Cons: - Refresh rate falls short of 240Hz. - Missing an OLED display. -The laptop's pixels are covered by a thirty-day warranty, and after this period, any issues will require an out-of-warranty repair. So far, this laptop has been a delight to use. The screen is bright and colorful, exceeding expectations for everyday tasks and my personal gaming. It's fast, responsive, and offers ample storage. My "personal gaming experience" has been outstanding, and I highly recommend this impressive laptop. It works well, is flawlessly designed and operates according to the manufacturer's specs. I’ll be updating this review as I continue to use it.

My experience with the Gigabyte Aero x16 has been pretty great so far! Overall, this laptop is a powerhouse that strikes a great balance of portability and functionality. Pros: Slim and sleek design that looks great Lightweight Great gaming experience, especially with DLSS Hard drive expandability Screen size Doesn’t seem to overheat Cons: No SD card slot Only 8 gigabytes of VRAM Keyboard shell moves as you press keys down This computer is comfortable to use with its big screen and keys. It’s handled everything I’ve thrown at it really well, from running AAA games well above 60fps at high to max settings. I do wish it had 12-16GB of VRAM to help run the latest games and to future-proof itself a bit. Doing some creative work and Stable Diffusion went well too, and it makes it easy with the included GiMate app, giving you control of the settings and access to AI image generation. I would have liked an SD card slot though. The fans also were pretty quiet and kept the laptop cool in heavy stress loads. Overall, I’m really impressed!

This is my first experience with Gigabyte products and in my short testing period it's a pretty good machine for my gaming and everyday needs. The specs are as expected for this range, great screen tuned for Pantone quality, a respectable amount of RAM and Storage and a CPU/GPU combo that can handle some high end gaming. From looking at the specs listing there is the ability to add an extra 32GB of RAM and up to 4TB of SSD storage, which in my experience is pretty rare in the space of thin and light-weight gaming laptops. In actual use, I experienced minimal issues with the games I frequent, such as NBA 2K, GTA 5, AC: Shadows, NightReign and a myriad of simulator/chill games. Sometimes the GiMATE AI suite, would apply the wrong mode for the game I was playing but was quickly fixed by just doing it myself. Which brings me to probably my biggest issue with computers these days, especially Windows OS, AI. The fact there is already CoPilot built in, Gigabyte decided to double down and add their own with GiMATE. I understand the company's thoughts of adding this to differentiate themselves but it doesn't do much useful/different really than CoPilot and I already don't use that on my PCs, so that space and development could have went into some other area of the laptop/user experience. In 2025, it's really hard to get a bad gaming PC and this one surpasses my expectations as a first time user of their products. A great thin, lightweight option that hold its own with content creation and gaming. If you can get past/ignore the AI slop, the core of the Gigabyte AERO X16 is great with it's expandable storage, RAM and nice build.

Overall, this is a fantastic gaming laptop. From the moment you open and turn on the computer to the moment you’re gaming it gives you a great experience. The weight of the computer is excellent. Compared to our prior gaming laptop With a similar screen size And overall dimensions,. It feels like it’s 2/3 of the weight which is considerable. It is also a thinner profile, which is nice and sleek. The keyboard itself is very impressive with its back lit color features That you could change to many different colors not sure but it feels like about 50 or 60 different colors. You can also choose a changing color option and it constantly changes, but I found this a little distracting. The colors are really nice And not distracting From the use of the computer. Set up does take a little bit of time probably about 30 minutes as it’s auto updating to the latest firmware and features, but it is pretty automatic with periodic prompts to the next set up phase. The gaming is excellent on this. We’ve downloaded and played several high-performance games that require intensive graphics and found it to handle very well. The screen graphics are excellent and an upgrade over our older gaming laptop, Although it’s not 4K OLED it is a really nice display. The gaming performance is excellent and found that it can keep up with many intense games. There has been periodic lag and drop, but it’s few and far between. Additionally, the laptop. fans run, much quieter and overall the machines cooler than the prior gaming laptop we used. I’m quite impressed with how quiet it is and overall the performance. Definitely recommend.

The Gigabyte AERO x16 laptop is very powerful. The screen is a 16" (2560×1600), so everything looks very clean and sharp. I really like that the display is tall because it offers you more space when you’re working. Performance wise, it performs well the AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 and 32GB of DDR5 RAM handle pretty much anything without the computer slowing down. I’ve had tons of tabs open and games running, and it still runs smooth. The 1TB SSD means that there’s plenty of storage so you don't have to keep uninstalling games in order to run other games. The RTX 5070 GPU is great for gaming and is up to standard for even the newest games. Games look clean and run at upper level settings without a problem. I realized, deep into a gaming session, that I forgot to plug in my ethernet cable. Even running on WiFi, this tablet runs games like a champ. Its build quality is solid. It looks clean in gray, and it doesn’t feel cheap. What could be improved is the fan volume. While better than many computers I have used, the fans can make some noticible noise during more intensive games. Overall, I'm very happy with this laptop and consider it a great gaming PC.
