The new DTS:X Master Audio was the selling point for me regarding this 4K version especially during the opening action scene. The previous Blu-ray's video was excellent with this 4K UHD Video being a slight upgrade. A good old-fashioned tale of revenge Again like The Revenant with the will to survive and the seeking of justice for the wrong doing was the movie's centerpiece.

What can i say about Gladiator. I have only seen the film twice since 2000.. I remember crying the first time i saw it..But the Gladiator 4k Steelbox knocked it out of the park...thanks to the HDR the colors were wonderful..the contrast really sharp..i recommand this to any Ridley Scott fan

I own the older "Sapphire Series" Blu-Ray, which was a nice release, but I love this movie and wanted a 4K update. I can confidently say that this is worth the price of admission ($20USD). I am very pleased with the 4K Blu-Ray treatment, overall - The picture & audio look as fantastic as ever, the 4K disc actually contains both theatrical & extended cuts, and the digital copy redeems in 4K. Highly recommended!

If this movie is not part of your 4K collection, I would recommend it

Caught the first 15 min only since I’m waiting on my soundbar to come in for my newly purchased 65 inch 4K. Wow!! The quality with the added HDR definitely immerses you into the film. Been a huge fan of gladiator but only owned the DVD prior to purchasing the 4K. Worth the double dip!!

Great movie. Looks better than my original DVD. This technology hobby is costing me a lot of money to keep re-buying movies I already had but needed to get them in the latest format (VHS, LaserDisc, DVD, HD-DVD, BLU-Ray DVD, Ultra 4K DVD, streaming services like Hulu, Amazon Prime, Netflix, AppleTV).

Gladiator is a must see movie. If you haven't already seen it, you MUST purchase this movie. If you have already seen it, you MUST purchase this movie. If not, you are missing out on one of the best epic films ever made. You will want to watch this movie again and again. Watching this movie on Blu-ray is the best possible way to get the full intended experience. The transfer is fantastic and the colors and characters come to life on the screen.

Thank goodness for 4k. This movie was great to watch again.

Fantastic Action, Drama Film! Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) takes power and strips rank from Maximus (Russell Crowe), one of the favored generals of his predecessor and father, Emperor Marcus Aurelius, the great stoical philosopher. Maximus is then relegated to fighting to the death in the gladiator arenas.

Great collection including both the theatrical and extended cuts in 4k. Extended provided some additional nuance to the story and informs the big scenes. Having both cuts in 4k is very nice. The visuals hold up well and the detail in 4k is subtle but noticeable. The sound was mastered with positional audio which adds atmosphere from my old HD copy.

The early days of UHD is a lot like the early days of Blu-Ray, where it's not clear what's going to be carried over on the "new" format. It was a pleasant surprise to see the UHD disc with both cuts of Gladiator and their corresponding commentaries, plus all of the "legacy" extras included on the Blu-ray discs. As long as you don't mind a little print damage, this is a worthy upgrade.

This is an older movie but has always been a good one.

Gladiator is my favorite movie of all time so I might be a little biased but I would highly recommend everyone see this movie. There may be some historical inaccuracies but overall Gladiator defiantly hits its mark. Russell Crowe is excellent as the main character, The Spaniard. Jaoquin Pheonix is a great villain. Also the cinematics and fight scenes are amazing. BUY THIS MOVIE!

I saw this movie when it came out and I have watched numerous other times over the years. I decided that it was time to add it to my collection in Blu-Ray. I was excited for the deleted scenes, but ended up disappointed there. The movie doesn't seem put together well with them. Luckily, you get to choose whether you want to watch the theatrical version or the extended. Stick with the theatrical version and you'll have a movie that is great in every way.
