You can't go wrong with Gladiator. Great story telling and great acting. I had read reviews when the movie was released on Blu-ray and at first it was a terrible transfer. Then it got better but you had to pay attention to make sure you you got the right copy. With 4k you can't go wrong. It is the best this film will look

Like the best of old school Hollywood epics, Gladiator pulls out all the stops to deliver spectacle, intrigue, and the all the trappings of ancient Rome. Yes, it's about fighting for your life, and fighting for justice, and even revenge, but it's about a man just trying to go home. Beautifully shot, with actors at the top of their game.

Classic gladiator film in 4K is head overboard heels better than the Blu-ray. The color pops a lot more and the picture quality in terms of sharpness is a lot better than the Blu-ray. DTS:X is a lot better as well as the soundtrack has been remixed to become more surround. Good buy for sure.

Great movie at a great price. If you somehow missed this movie Russell Crowe is gorgeous and amazing in this action packed thriller. You will not be bored and will sit on the edge of your seat. Joaquin Phoenix is great in his part. You love to hate him and cheer for Russell Crowe as the “Gladiator”

I always loved this movie, and it has been on the local cable channels at lot but it is always cut and trimmed for time and content.........when i saw it at Best Buy i had to get it, especially at the Best Buy price it as offered. Oscar winning acting and filming, music that haunts you and just a terrific story of betrayal , honor and retribution filmed with fantastic people and gorgeous cinematography.

This is one of my favorite movies from back in the day. The transfer is great. I will say there is film grain present in this movie but it is actually not horribly noticeable ( and it's unavoidable to any movie filmed in 35mm) detail is spectacular and HDR makes a huge difference in natural colors popping. This purchase was overall a very pleasant surprise in quality!

We all know Gladiator is a great movie, so I needn’t waste time writing about that aspect. The 4K transfer is excellent and a nice step up from the Blu-ray transfer. The steelbook is a beautiful looking case and a much nicer collector piece than the standard release. It’s highly worth buying and adding to your shelf.

One of my favorite movies and now I have the 4K HDR version for my library. A classic. Resolution is excellent. Didn't really see any extra content in the extended edition, but look forward to watching the theatrical version to compare what scenes were added.

Disappointing 4K format of this spectacular film. Fortunately the BluRay disc also included is fine. This 4K was my first physical disc in this 4K format, to test out my new 4K LG UP870 player on my 75" Sony XBR75X900E. I was expecting to be blown away. I was not. The huge outside epic scenes were fine...the subtle interior firelight scenes were terrible. Blotchy black tones in the close-up faces looked like the digitizing could not handle the detail in the shadows. I think I will be streaming 4K in the future rather than buying 4K discs. But like I said, the BluRay disc was fine.

A movie definitely worthy of a steel book. I upgraded my normal case version to this, and am not disappointed. It doesn't seem to be much of a collectable in terms of quantities being limited (I've seen several restocks) but the art chosen for the case is wonderful.

This movie looks really stunning on 4K. It's definitely a bump up from the Blu-Ray version. Now for the Steelbook; everything was included along with the digital code, blu-ray, and 4K disc. Yes they have the extended cut as well so it was a double thumbs up from me. Overall, the steelbook was worth it!

Superb casting, visionary direction, great believable acting, a grand musical score with sound effects well-crafted to each scene, and an interesting story-line are all coupled together with superb cinematography to create a believable tale that is more than just a fantastically told story. This movie is emotionally charged and it will reach out and literally touch you. Once seen you will be drawn back to it again.

You'll see this kind of steelbook package on shelves occasionally. A re-issue at a reasonable price in standard steelbook packaging. No frills here. Just the blu-ray in a steelbook. No DVD copy, no Digital HD (this one will work with disc-to-digital on Vudu though). If you haven't upgraded your Gladiator DVD from ages ago, this is a good buy. Especially if you use disc-to-digital.

GLADIATOR IS IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, A NEAR PERFECT MOVIE. IT WORKS ON SO MANY LEVELS, THE ACTING WAS PHENOMENAL, THE STORY IS COMPELLING, THE BACKDROP OF THE FILM IS MY FAVORITE AND IS BEAUTIFUL. THIS MOVIE IS DESTINED TO BE A CLASSIC, AND IS A MOVIE THAT CAN BE WATCHED AND APPRECIATED WITH EACH SUBSEQUENT VIEWING. YOU WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

Every dvd and blu-ray I’ve owned of this film has been defective. I’m happy to say this steelbook version has no playback issues. Beautiful picture and sound, and the usual extras on disc 3. One of my favorite films, and one of Sir Ridley Scott’s best. A great steelbook set, I highly recommend.

I saw this movie when it first came out & have lost count on how many times I have seen it since. Joaquin Phoenix was grossly overlooked for Best Supporting Actor in this,and it has outstanding performances from about five others as well. The musical score is incredible, as is the cinematography, and oh yes there is the story...one of the best movies of all time!!!

Love this movie. The musical score is excellent. Interesting cast and so believable. “I will have my vengeance in this life or another “ Mr. Crow can be anyone. and he really knows how to convince his audience that he’s that character he’s is portraying. Breath taking.

This just a great 4K transfer of the fantastic movie Gladiator! Much better than the earlier BluRay version IMHO. Stunning visuals and the audio is beyond immersive! If you haven’t seen this movie yet, get this and be amazed! Really this is as good as it gets!

This is a fantastic Home release. Not only is the film and sound far superior in 4K UHD, but they don’t skimp on the special features. You get both the theatrical and extended cuts of the film, plus all of the behind the scenes Making Of featurettes. I really love it when a studio gives you your money’s worth in a home release.
