I find the image quality superb. The sound was crystal clear. I didn't experience any of the problems that other people have talked about in their reviews. The transition from music to conversation was great. In some movies the music was too loud and then I could barely hear the conversations. I didn't have this problem at all with this movie. I haven't found any problems with this product. It was definitely worth the money. I just wish I had bought the DVD so I could get the extra $10 off.

I was first in the door opening day in 2000. The original DVD package for the film was the reason I bought my 1st DVD player in 2000. I bought this set as soon as it was released. A plus were the deleted scenes. Best part was the commentary with Russell & Ridley. Every time I watch the film I always play that commentary. When you can do TOO many extras this is a good example of it. Needed a better booklet/brochure inside the package. That was kind of lame.

this is one of the few movies that should be in every movie buffs collection, it is up there with braveheart in terms of epic. the story revolves around a general who was betrayed and left for dead, he was found by a slaver and put into the gladiator ring. the acting is superb and does have some great battle scenes. terrific movie.

Gladiator is one of my favorite movies. Regardless of the fact that it is long and i have the attention span of a flea i still can watch this movie again and again. The style is gorgeous, the soundtrack is awesome, and the actors did an epic job.

The Best-Picture-winning film speaks for itself. Gladiator is a modern-day classic, an epic on the scale of Ben-Hur. This edition is the two-disc remastered version, which is currently the highest quality available. Disc one is the extended and theatrical cuts on the same disc. Disc two is bonus features. The steelbook, however, leaves a bit to be desired. The cover artwork is simply the Sapphire Series cover including the annoying award banner on the bottom. This line of steelbooks is also missing inside artwork, which is unfortunate. The price point is the only reason you should pick this up. In some cases, the steelbooks are actually cheaper than the regular editions of the films.

I honestly don't see what everyones problem is with the transfer to blu-ray. I have a 46" Samsung LCD TV and a Sony Blu-ray player and I thought that the picture looked great. Its definitely a step up from the original movie. The audio was excellent too. I think its a must have for a fan of the movie. I would suggest buying it and seeing it for yourself.

A very powerful action drama that includes a great plot, great CGI, and magnificent acting. Yes Ruessell Crowe is the star, but for me Joaquin Phoenix stole the movie. I figure that if an actor plays a bad guy and you don't him, than he did a very good job. So Mr. Phoenix play his role so well that I was glad of his outcome in the movie

The 4k transfer is stunning. This video is improved and the audio track is very good with improved sound stage. This edition also includes the 2005 extended edition with 17 additional minutes. All this make it well worth the upgrade to 4k.

Enjoyed watching this movie for the second time, especially on blu-ray format, as the movie has many panoramic vistas and was filmed well. The storyline is very involved & interesting, far beyond the implications of the title "Gladiator". Acting was top-notch as well. Overall a great hi-def movie experience.

This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. The acting, script, and historical context are all great. There are no negative aspects of the movie that I can remember. If you have not seen this movie yet, I reccomend that you watch it now.

I had forgotten how fun and exciting this movie was, until I bought it on dvd and watched it again. It was well worth the time to see it again. I didn't particularly like the ending but what the heck. Do buy it see it again and treasure it in your library.

Everyone that says that the video is bad does not know what they are looking at, im a Editor and look at Film transfers and HD footage all day long and this movie looks great, i would recommend this movie to anyone, dont listen to the bad reviews they dont know what they are looking at.

One of my all time favorite movies... on Blu-Ray... in a steelbook... for cheap... YES PLEASE! The picture is beautiful, and this a must have on Blu-Ray! It also offers a few versions of the movie (extended)! This is version of the movie to pick up!

It has all the ingredients you need in a good movie. (Family, hero’s, villains, blood, sweat, and tears.) The story plot works well with the characters. It has a great cast, music, and trauma. Let’s not forget the fighting of Romans, barbarians, gladiators, and animals.

I have always like this movie and said it would be a classic. The blu ray version is great - awesome picture and sound. The new scenes are pretty good and some of them were needed (my opinion) in the theatrical version to fill some of the gaps in the storyline.

This is a great movie to have in a dvd collection. The story is wonderful and the picture quality is amazing! Also seeing the tank under the chariot in high definition is funny. The extras is pretty cool. I really enjoyed my purchase.

Watched it endless times, mostly for battle scenes and Battle of Carthage particularly. Hans Zimmer wrote an awesome score, although the entire score is not part of the extras.

Action packed and full story! Awesome movie that delivers all the way through! One of Russell Crowes' best movies! Period! Watch this!

Russell Crowe brings a sense of grace and dignity to his role in this very violent, yet deeply moving film. The story immediately sweeps you up and the amazing visual effects and top notch acting make this movie truly stunning.

WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT A MOVIE THAT I'VE WATCHED MORE THAN 10 TIMES? MAN THIS MOVIES IS RAW, UNADULTERATED, HARDCORE, AWESOME, POWERFUL AND WHAT YOU WANT IN A MOVIE. "GLADITOR" IS JUST THE STANDARD FOR OTHER MOVIES.
