The 3-D version was good....it made a lame movie more palatable, but I was slightly disappointed with the conversion. Maybe it suffered in comparison to Exodus which I watched the night before. I enjoyed the 3D experience in Exodus more than with this flick, but my review could be biased because it was a stronger movie than Gods and Kings.

I bought this movie when it was relatively cheap at my local Best Buy. The movie has great visuals and tries to incorporate Egyptian mythology so for those who are not aware of who is who may need a refresher course. Overall it is not a bad movie, but I did not set out to buy it, the price I found it at was my main reason for purchase.

This film is by no means a revelation in dialogue or acting. For what it's worth it is very entertaining to watch. If you enjoyed the cg heavy blockbusters like the newer clash of the titans and wrath of the titans like me, and find those entertaining, then add this one to your collection. It's worth it in 4k if you have the hardware.

This is one of those old mythical stories of ancient Egyptian gods. Its got betrayal, ambition, love story, reluctant hero, etc. Winged beings believed to be Gods, whos blood is made of gold rule Egypt. A little far fetched, but entertaining on the special effects alone. Most likely would not watch it more than twice in a year.

This is not an Academy Award type movie. OI don't think I hurt the producer's or talent's feelings in saying so. And I don't think I surprise anyone who would watch the movie. What it is - it is a good sit on the sofa with some popcorn and just enjoy the movie. Good escape for a couple of hours from the drudgeries of your life.

Not a great movie, but has it moments , is funny and entertaining

Okay let's get this started! The film may not accurate to history but people it's entertainment! Yeah as long as Hollywood has hands in it they will choice who they want to play what. Just love it as it suppose to be entertainment! But let's get off of that the cgi is awesome and the action is average but worth the watch.

Story line what you'd expect, God's of Egypt fight each other for control of all but what makes this really good is the special effects. Simply put, they are pretty awesome. The color combinations are very vivid and add the the overall quality. I love this movie just for the effects. Totally worth seeing.

This by far is my favorite steelbook! The artwork is stunning and I'm so glad they used this obscure poster design. Grab it while you can! As for the movie, I saw it in IMAX and came away saying how everything about it was ludicrous. Yet, if you accept that, you may actually enjoy it. I do. Everything about it is so insane. It is a bad, bad movie. It reminds me of an Ed Wood film and I wonder if this is something that he'd come up with if he had millions to spend making a movie, haha. Just enjoy it and definitely enjoy the BEAUTIFUL steelbook!

After upgrading my TV to 4K and purchasing a 4K player, it is such a big difference in what I see while watching movies. I love how clear and crisp the movies look. For anyone who loves watching movies at home, having the ability to watch true 4K movies is amazing, and is worth the extra purchase price.

I watched this movie with my two sons (ages 11 and 17) and my husband. Gods of Egypt is packed with special effects and has a fairly interesting storyline. I wouldn't have necessarily chosen this movie for myself. However,I am always outnumbered. It was enjoyable nonetheless. My husband and boys loved it.

Gods of Egypt is a well written story plot and let's your imagination run. Seeing this movie in 3D Blu-ray really adds to the special effects. I also recommend watching the extra features that show how the movie is made, very interesting.

So this isn't a very good movie, but I got it very inexpensively. It's beautiful to look at and the action is lots of fun at times. It's what I call a Saturday afternoon movie that you can watch with your brain turned off.

A lot of CGIs overwhelms the film Good thing technology have come a loooong, loooong way! Otherwise this film would not have it. A film about Egypt and Egyptian Gods. Where is the diversity? But then who can do a Geoffrey Rush, except himself. How can you attract fans to a film without Gerard Butler?

Did not see this at the theaters so I blind bought it and really enjoyed it. It had great special effects and was great in 3D. I think the main reason it bombed at the box office is because this is a summer film but was released while kids were still in school. Makes it difficult for repeat viewings.

I didn't get to see this film in the theaters. I was interested in the steel box package and i wanted to see this film. It was a very interesting take on the legends of the kings (gods) of Egypt. This idea of the worm being kept at bay is something i had never heard before and i had to wiki the info. I really like his film. It took legends and pushed it into the fantastic realm. Great effects and it made ne interested enough to look up the legends to see the basis of the film. Very good show and a keeper for your collection.

I love this kind of film because it had a lot of action and was very suspenseful. I also like the actors in it. The storyline was great and kind of relates to what's current in the news today with all the fighting, terrorists, suicide bombers, etc. and how they all hate the Americans.

Aside from being penned by critics and all the media for "cliches" and "lack of diversity in cast", - this film should get all attention from the cinema junkies to the spectacle lovers. It has a coherent plot, mythology, great actors (Geoffrey Rush is in it for Gods sake), stunning visuals and "directors message" (the ones who watched Dark City - another Alex Proyas film - would understand). I strongly recommend this movie, and, ultimately, its you who has to have an opinion on it and not the crowd... Enjoy

First of all, the cosmetics. This is one of the most beautiful steel books I own, the gold and black colors are vivid and eye catching. Overall, I entered knowing this is your typical CGI fest blockbuster, but knowing all that it has some more unique and entertaining action sequences and creatures in it, creates a nice atmosphere for a retake on ancient Egypt. The sound and picture are excellent in 7.1 as to be expected. Overall, for the price an excellent collector;s item with decent replay value as well.

The acting isn't top notch, and the story could have been portrayed better, but this movie is still a fun action-packed romp. The characters aren't all entirely forgettable, and the visual effects are pretty darn good so if nothing else it's pleasing to the eye.
