on edge of my seat movie pretty on point with the book

Movie wasn't as suspenseful as I thought it would be.

Nick Dunne, a small town guy who made good in the big city as a magazine writer blames the recession and the loss of his job for the decline of his marriage to his intellectually superior wife with a substantial trust fund. Questions of his motives and character begin to arise after his wife's disappearance on the morning of their fifth anniversary. As the search for his missing wife plays out over the ensuing days, guilty suspicions are fueled into a national frenzy by the media circus camped outside his house. Is this idyllic, everyman truly capable of murdering his wife? Great packaging and extras! Rosamund Pike is amazing to watch and can't turn away from the screen once she is one.

First off, random note, you can tell Ben was getting in shape for the Batman in this movie. He is way too buffed up for a typical suburban husband. haha..jokes aside, he was good in this movie. I didn't read the source material so I had no idea what to expect but I heard this was movie was messed up and I will concur. It is definitely a movie that will have you reevaluate your relationship with your wife/girlfriend. haha...I watched this with my wife and we both were pretty surprised and how far she went in this movie. No spoilers. Enjoy!

My wife and I read the book and loved it though the subject matter was very unsettling. No spoilers, but if you haven't read the book before seeing the movie, you are in for a huge shock. Nothing is what it seems. Happy to see how true it was to the book though I wish they included information about the situation with Amy's school friend as that was a crucial piece in the book. Very highly recommended. Not a big fan of Ben Afflleck but he did a good job with the role of Nick. Rosamund Pike is incredible as Amy.

I have seen every movie David Fincher has done, (Fight Club, Se7en, The Social Network...) and this one does not disappoint! I found myself going back and forth during the film on if he killed his wife, it did an excellent job on making me question it. Both leading actors do a great job as well! I did not read the book so I do not know how accurate it is, but those who have enjoyed it as well. I wont tell you what, but there is a particular scene that when it happened I thought, now it's a David Fincher film!

You like Fincher? Good. Watch this. You like edgy, pull no punches filmmaking? Good. Watch this. You like seeing a master craftsman unleash camera and editing on the montage? Watch this immediately. It's not perfect from a plot standpoint (the climax is creaky if you think about it for more than 5 seconds, hence the loss of 1 star)...but from a technique standpoint, it's flawless. And more than once, Fincher will remind you why you love him....because more than once you will say, "Wow...he just did that."

Wow! Just wow! This movie will hook you right in, with the suspense and the thrills! And of course the career acting performances by Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike just blew me away, so many twists, it's definitely a movie that keeps you guessing and wanting more, definitely a must see and must own if you're a huge movie fan!

What a powerful film! You will be sucked into its dark and somber tone, thinking that the events and story are proceeding in one direction only to have the rug pulled out from under you.. A fantastic depiction of manipulation, deception and narcissism and personality disorder that you will ever see. Is this really what marriage is about in its true form unfettered by social convention?

I wasn't surprised that this film was so good! But since this review is for the Blu ray, I'll comment on the disc itself. The audio (7.1 DTS-HD MA) is outstanding! Video is amazing as well. Exactly what I would have expected for a current film, especially one by David Fincher. Packaging is solid for this one as well, and sits well next to Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and Social Network.

Films like Fight Club, Se7en, and Zodiac, are just a few examples to mark director David Fincher's amazing transitions from the big screen to one's home theater. And Gone Girl is no different. This is a dark, gritty, and intense look at the true horrors that lie behind the eyes of the so-called "Happy Couple" in the modern day, and it looks and sounds fantastic on Blu Ray.

I think that this was the BEST PICTURE OF THE YEAR. And it wasn't even nominated. Too bad really, because it deserved at least a nomination. The blu-ray shines and the sound is in 7.1 surround. An easy purchase. Read the book as well. It's as good as this movie. FIVE STARS...and then some!

This movie had some pretty great twists! I love that the included digital is redeemable on iTunes for a 4k upgrade, so that definitely makes this a very worthwhile purchase!

Saw this movie in theater and was so blown away by it that I bought the book. David Fincher did a great job, so did Gilian Flynn on the script and everyone in the cast, it was an amazing thriller, very well done!

Great story. Amazing acting. One of the best films of 2014. I was a little worried at first, but Affleck pulled it off. Picked up the Blu-Ray on release day and the packaging was just as amazing as the contents. The Amazing Amy book is definitely a nice addition.

I went into watching this movie without much preconceptions other than that David Fincher has a prettu good track record. I barely knew much about the movie's synopsis, much less that it was adapted from the book, but I can say that it was a riveting thriller, and another finely directed piece from Fincher.

This is an really great suspense and crime thriller of 2014. I really loved the performance that Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike in the twist-filled movie. Definite worth a watch.

Wow! I thought I was going to be watching a love story with my girlfriend but boy was I wrong. This movie was straight up SCARY! I've never seen a movie that felt so close to home. I nearly started to urinate myself. At first I didn't know this was the prequel to batman vs. superman.
