David Fincher knows perfection for his movies, this is not different. Stellar cast and crafting, plus this Blu-Ray version have the Amy Book, which is always a nice plus for collectors like me at a very affordable price, you get the Blu-Ray, Digital Code, Amy's book and a very pretty non-conventional package at only 2 extra bucks difference compared to renting it online.

Another Winning Adaptation from David Fincher

FEATURE: With gorgeous cinematography, on-point performances, tight editing, tack-sharp direction and a well-structured script from the source novel's writer, Gillian Anderson, Gone Girl is entertaining, disturbing and overall good. VIDEO: Contrast is well-balanced, detail is sharp but never unnaturally so, color is vivid (at least as much as the movie's bleak tone will allow) and no compression issues are to be found. AUDIO: This DTS-HD MA 7.1 track is perfect. Dialogue, while often delicate, is always tangible and discernible. Music sounds full and weighty, surround activity is frequent, but natural and unobtrusive, and fidelity is excellent. BONUS FEATURES: A good-but-not-great commentary is all we've got here, nothing so great as the selection on Fincher's previous release, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Nick Dunne,on his fifth wedding annversasry, reports his wife (Ben Affleck) Amy missing(Rosamund Pike).,Nicks deceits make him a prime suspect that his perfect marriage wasnt so perfect.public pressure (media) cause the police to belive he is their number ONE person of interest.the context of this film is about the inner relationships betweentwo people Amy is dark sinister passive aggressive to point of murderEach is almost a reflection of the otherAmys return to Nick brings an impasse that neither can escape from. This is an excellent film that shows the compexity of character in marriage that cant always be resolved..

A good movie but not a great one. Interesting and keeps your attention but ultimately average thriller and disappointing ending ...the high definition transfer though is very very good and the sound quality is also excellent

Gone Girl is one of the single best films made in the last 20 years, probably one of the best ever. Directed by David Fincher (SE7EN, Fight Club, The Social Network), and starring Ben Affleck (Daredevil), Gone Girl delivers the goods. Trent Reznor is once again involved with the score, and gives the film the haunting vibrations not really heard from since Jaws. If you haven't seen Fincher's previous works, I highly suggest working your way through his library of titles.

I haven't read the novel, so I don't know how different the film is from the book. Nonetheless, the film was enjoyable on it's own merit and contained the traditional suspense and downright creepiness to be expected from director David Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club, Zodiac, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, etc). The film is a critique of marriage and the media and touches on themes such as manipulation, infidelity and even murder. Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike are great in this and they get incredible support from Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry and Kim Dickens. I'm still on the fence about the ending, perhaps watching it a couple of more times will do the trick. However, the acting, setting, mood and twist in the middle of the film make it worth watching.

This great movie was based on the book with the same name by Gillian Flynn. This wonderful writer also wrote the screenplay which could not have been more appropriate! Sometimes you find another writer handling or should I say butchering a screenplay of a great book, so I do like it when the writer also does the screen play! The book was thrilling and riveting, and the movie is just done to a perfect "T"!! I almost wish I had written the book!! The casting of this movie was so great, Ben Affleck, and Rosamund Pike were born to do this movie, and I hope they feel the same way!

    Gripping The Entire Time

For a movie that is two and a half hours, it sure didn't feel like it. Sometimes when movies get that long they start to drag on and on, with nothing interesting really happening most of the time. Not this one. Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike do a great job exploring their characters and making the audience not fully know who to support until about halfway through the movie. What I liked is how they portrayed the media and how the media can shape the public's perception. It may not be a ground breaking concept, but it is still an intriguing one. One of the few weak spots was the odd role Neil Patrick Harris played, which worked but was still odd. Definitely a good choice if you want a thriller or a mystery.

Rosemund Pike was in a Bond film. I think it was Die Another Day, which is such a great film that has aged very well. She is scary in this movie, and I can't decide if she is the villain or not here, which is how you know it is good cinema. Ben Affleck is not a good husband in this movie, but I wonder if he deserves the events that transpire. No spoilers in my reviews so you'll have to watch to find out what I mean.

HelloOOOooo...Hey. Hey. saw this on cable...kinda just breezed through the 1st 1/2 hr...so-so...and then it grabbed me for a ride...the blu-ray is really good quality considering many of dark shadowy scenes...color is a bit on the yellow tinge, but was filmed that way i guess...ya really do have to watch this movie a few times to get the story line down, as well as the characters...very well thought out psycho thriller...i get a chill up my spine just thinking about it...definitely an adult movie that plays with your mind...

This had to be hands down one of the top movies of the year! I wasnt sure what to expect when I made the purchase ( actually, I thought it was going to be your typical Hollywood movie that you could figure out in the first thirty minutes of the film) and debated whether I should purchase the movie.I'm so glad I did purchase this movie. This is a very smart and well done movie, it will have you in shock and provide lots to talk about around the water cooler at work. The movie will also make you look at your significant other in wonderment.

Gone Girl is an incredibly gripping thriller. One of those movies that doesn't lose its edge with multiple viewings, thanks in large part to one of Ben Affleck's best performances to date. Combine that with Rosamund Pike's compelling and unnerving acting, earning her an Oscar Nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role and one of my all time personal favorites in director David Fincher, and you're left with one of the most captivating thrillers that's sure to reacquaint you with the edge of your seat.

Gone Girl is wonderfully written rom-com supported by an incredible cast. When Prometheus (Ben Affleck), an out of work and notoriously down-on-his-luck rodeo clown, is scorned by his lover (Rosamund Pike) he sets out on path rife with shenanigans to settle the score. Along with his pal, Tickles McBiscuits (Tyler Perry), he searches high & low for the road to redemption while dead set on smiting his enemy, Chicklets Hamfist (Neil Patrick Harris), who sullied his name by stealing his true love & his waffle iron. A love story for the ages.

    A Solid David Fincher Film

A twisty, well directed murder mystery places Ben Afleck at the center of attention after his famous wife Amy (Rosemund Pike) disappears. Like many films in this genre, "Gone Girl" suffers from a few strange and convenient plot pieces, but the movie moves along swiftly and never slows down. While it may not be "Seven", or "Zodiac", GG is a nice return to form for Fincher after the mediocre "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". Bought at bargin bin price, this package included some nice extras like a copy of "Amazing Amy" as featured in the film.

This movie was definitely bold and creepy. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed Se7en, Zodiac, or Fight Club. That's just Fincher's previous work, however, what this movie boils down to is murder, mystery, and intent. That and some fantastic performances by top-billed actors culminates to a great movie. This combo pack comes with the digital HD, and even a small story book companion to the movie. The artwork on the case is quite nice too! Definitely buy this is you liked this movie or like David Fincher!

Unlike most of the world, I hadn't read Gillian Flynn's novel before sitting down in the theater to watch Gone Girl. Not knowing the world of the film before entering it didn't make it any less enjoyable. I was happy to go along for the ride, completely oblivious to just how twisted and fun it was going to be! This is a much watch for anyone who enjoys a good mystery and likes to have fun with their entertainment. I had to purchase the blu-ray so I could experience the film all over again.

The film does not offer anything new in terms of its genre, but what you DO get is a performance of disturbed behavior that’s hypnotic and equally chilly. Of course, I recommend suspending all plot holes and inconsistencies the story holds for this film but if you focus on how the story unravels and again Rosamund’s performance, it will shock you to some degree. Buy it on sale too, got it cheap and redeemed on iTunes and got the 4K digital version on regular Blu-ray, so it’s a win-win.

Honestly, I was kinda excited for this movie, as people often told me this was one of the best movies they had ever seen, etc. And I'm a great fan of David Fincher, so that added to it. I believe that I went into this movie with the wrong expectations. I'm not saying that the movie was bad, it's actually really good. What I'm saying that is not David Fincher's best film. The conclusion surely took me by surprise and with a sensation of unease, which I definitely loved, as is classic in a Fincher movie. In summary is a great movie if you like drama overall, although you should check out other films by David Fincher.

If you enjoy suspense, you'll love this movie. Gone Girl is a must see movie of 2014. When Amy turns up missing an entire community embarks on a mission to find her. With numerous indications towards a homicide, but no witnesses or body to be found; all signs point to Amy's husband, played by Ben Affleck, as the prime suspect. The story then focuses on the couples relationship, throughout the movie, by telling each of their perspectives to compile the complete picture for the viewers understanding.
