This multi-layered, wickedly brilliant film. Almost felt like I was watching a long-lost Hitchcock classic. I actually saw half the movie at first on cable and was so intrigued i didnt move from my chair. I ended up buying it the next day. I didnt even know this movie was based upon a book originally but after seeing this movie im definitely buying the book. Go out and buy this movie you wont regret it

I saw this movie when it was released in the theaters and although it was long I really enjoyed it. The advantage to watching it on DVD is you can watch it like a mini-series, don't have to sit for 3 hours. Ben Affleck was great and the actress who played the lead was awesome. I definitely recommend this movie to anyone who hasn't seen it. Even if you figure out what is happening, it's still fun to watch it unfold.

    Surprising Mystery Thriller

This movie starts out with interesting facts about a married couple who have developed the normal problem of communication to the max. The first half has you thinking in a particular direction and then the film does a 180 and gives you whiplash. The ending is especially dicey. Kept my attention throughout and thought the acting was excellent. Great way to spend a winter afternoon or evening if you like who dunnits!

Great Movie, Great Quality, Skimpy Bonus Content!

The movie itself is great! Fincher knows how to present stories in new and interesting ways and he pulls that off again here. The bonus content is where this release falls flat. The commentary track was fun and interesting and the "Amazing Amy" complete children's book was a nice touch but Fincher's movies usually have in-depth behind-the-scenes content and for some reason this one does not. I'd recommend this movie to people as a rental and tell them to wait until it is re-released with more bonus content ala Panic Room and The Game.

With the exception of "Alien 3", I have truly enjoyed all of the films directed by David Fincher. I was so fascinated by "Se7en", that I learned a lot about him as soon as I could. Whatever story he chooses to "bring to life" next has always given me a great source of joy in the theater (where I have seen ALL of his films first), and I have purchased each one when it was released on disc (just checked--yep, every one), so the decision to pick up "Gone Girl" was an easy one to make. His visual style never disappoints.

An Intellectual Film Disguised as a Thriller

Gone Girl is an excellent film by one of the best directors working in Hollywood today. It is a scathing critique of American culture; it is not afraid to satire any ideology. Rampant capitalism and rabid feminism in particular are under attack. This is an intellectual film disguised as a thriller, and it succeeds at both. Well filmed, well acted, and with a great score, Gone Girl is highly recommended.

I've never seen this film and gave it a shot for 5 bucks. It turned out to be pretty good. Bonus is the digital code still worked even though I knew it'd be expired given the age of this movie. Got a 4k digital copy of it for future viewing now.

*NO SPOILERS* This movie as very gripping plot as it takes you through the marriage of this seemingly normal couple, but all is not what it seems. This movie packs many twists and surprises along the way to ending that will make you think about what you would do for your marriage and do you really know the people in your life.

One of the better films for the year, my wife had mixed responses to it. This was probably due to the shift in the storyline and shock fest that started about two-thirds through the film. The video and audio quality rank very well for a Blu-ray edition, although there is a lack of special features. Good film to have for the library and I would recommend the move, but if you don't have it yet, wait till a good sell.

I went Black friday shopping & i saw that this was a good price, i purchased it bc Best Buy had 5 stars on it, my husband ended up really liking it. I enjoyed that it was based on a novel! Overall, its a great thriller, keeps you on your toes wondering who the killer is... Also, it came with a kids book, my daughter enjoyed it as well. We all got a great deal on a great movie.

My wife and I own an audio/video business here in LA and we currently own 4 of these tv's. If you're setting up a high end home theater system this isnt your tv but if your budget is under $400 you just found your new tv. The picture is FAR better than you would expect, it has plenty of inputs and this is a durable unit. We ship ours all over the country and they keep rocking. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this unit for someone on a budget, a college dorm or even someone looking for a giant computer monitor.

I enjoyed it was terrific. Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike were super. surprise #Dougie Houser makes a great villain too. Great script love to read original book. Hope for some Oscars in Feb. I am surprised the film made here locally Greenville doesn't like too literate movies. Many never play here unless it wins a lot of awards. Kings Speech never played here till a month after best picture award.

My son had been recommending this movie for over a year so when I saw it on sale for Black Friday I had to get it. He hyped it so much I thought I would be disappointed but I am glad to say that it was as good or better than he built it up to be. I feel a little unresolved the way it ended, but that is the way it was intended to make you feel. Great movie!!

    Another Sharp-Edged Thriller from Fincher

Director David Fincher's follow-up to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is another adaptation of a best-selling thriller, this time Gillian Flynn's recent smash success. Ben Affleck has rarely been better as a seemingly "perfect" husband implicated when his wife disappears. Flynn and Fincher manage to capture the wildly different points of view expressed by Affleck's Nick and his wife Amy (Rosamund Pike). Like all Fincher movies the movie looks great, and he supplies a lively commentary track on the Blu-ray.

Great story of the twisted getting more twisted. Rosamund Pike is terrific in this tale, and looks good while doing it as well. Ben Affleck plays a stupe who falls for the beautiful smart girl and ends-up despising her. She catches-on and sets him up for her murder. THEN it starts getting twisted! If you liked Fatal Attraction all those years ago, or Basic Instinct, you will love this film.

I absolutely loved this movie, The main character was funny and unexpected in her decisions. The character of the main character was well developed and she was full of surprises, in a way that caused me to think, and wonder. This movie was unusual and not the kind of movie I see often.

David Fincher has a talent for creating a realistic world for his characters and Gone Girl based on the best seller doesn't disappoint. Without giving anything away I was not expecting a lot of the twists that occurred and because of how each of the character's acted it made you not know what was going on. Anyone who likes a good thriller with unexpected twists will enjoy this film.

This movie was definitely a whole lot better than I was expecting it to be. Even tho it was a Fincher, the story didn't seem very original so my expectations weren't very high. Didn't read the book or any reviews before watching, but friends spoke of the multiple unexpected twists. Haven't seen any special features yet but the purchase is worth it for just the movie alone.

I didn't read the book so I can't compare, but if the book was as good as the movie, which quite the book is better, than it must be an amazing book. The movie was expertly done by David Fincher and Ben Affleck/Rosemond Pike were on point throughout. The movie will keep you guessing and on the edge of your sit until it knocks you out at the end. This is a must see/must own movie.
