Google - Chromecast - Black works great. Liked it so far

google home uses location service to identify nearby chromecast devices. To set it up, you need to allow google home to use location services. That's the only way you can set up chromecast. Chromecast doesn't need google home for many activities once it is set up.

Very reasonable price and easy to use. I am happy with it.

I really like how easy this product is to use but I feel like they could change how it is set up. For example, I would like to see the Chromecast have a built in software that wasn't so reliant on another device.

I love my chromecast. Already have one of the first gen model on tv in bedroom. Bought the new 2nd gen for Tv in living room. Great for turning any tv into a smart tv. Also great even if you have a smart tv but want to watch google play movie/shows on your Tv.

This is a good one for make your normal tv to smart tv

I have Apple TV and Prime from Amazon in the living room and saw this refurbished for very cheap and thought why not try it in the bedroom. I'm very happy with it except hate the fact no remote and had to download on my phone but besides that it's great!

Better and easier to watch stuffs online. Recommend

I submitted a review of this product earlier after using it at home for awhile. I really like the device. It works on my iDevices for casting content to the TV; however, the first time I traveled with it I discovered a flaw in the the device's capabilities, it requires a WiFi connection. Seems like a no-brainer since most hotels/motels offer WiFi, but hotel WiFi often require some sort of login in order to use it. Unfortunately t the device and the Google Home app don't offer a why for your to connect to this sort network. So if you wanted to watch Netflix or cast shows from your device to the TV, you're out of luck. Looking through the Chromecast support forum, they replies will tell you this is not a supported scenario for the device. Home uses will find this a great device, but if you want it for travel, look for something else.

I already owned Chromecast 1 and Roku. Purchased Chromecast 2 for my Slingbox. Did not work! After running the Slingbox app for about 10 minutes the horizontal hold on the picture broke, picture reverted to top half of screen and diagonal lines on bottom half. I tried two TV's using Chromecast 1, Chromecast 2 and Roku. ONLY the Chromecast 2 failed 100% of the time, no failure on the others. Google support was very nice but not very helpful. They were not interested in providing more than cursory help . Chromecast 2 did work well on YouTube and streaming movie trailers.

I bought this while traveling to access my shows on HBO and Starz. It takes a little work to connect it the hotel Wi-Fi but was awesome once I got it connected. Great to have when you don't like the television options in your hotel room.

I bought this item as new during the black friday 2 x $50 offer. One of the devices was used, not new as advertised. I have been trying to return it by mail and it seems to be a task of titanic proportions for the customer care service team. After 15 acknowledgement emails I never received what I was asking for. As for the device, don't bother even trying if you have an iphone or ipad. The interaction with iOS is frustrating and many functions are lost when compared to android.

Love this thing. I run a couple different apps on my phone to allow me to watch shows and videos and it's nice when I'm home to watch them on a bigger screen....Chromcast allows me to cast to the TV whatever is on my phone.

Not a review on the current product or Best Buy. I received a chromecast as a gift and had many issues with the device since I tried setting it up. I contacted the customer service about 6 times in the past 6 months about the product, each time having them tell me to reboot the device. It got to the point where every time I tried to use the Chromecast, there would be a connection failure that could not be fixed. I asked the customer service for a refund or a new chromecast, and they said they were not able to help and that I needed to talk to a senior specialist. I was told none were available and that I would get a call back from one within 48 hours. This never happened. This same process repeated itself 3 times (calling, promised a response, no follow up). Then I received an email from the customer service asking for the basic information on what was wrong about the device. I had already given this information to them over the 9 phone call conversations I had, and told them it would be in the documentation. They asked me more questions whose answers they already had access. I have been contacted by a "senior" specialist by email, and will hopefully get a call back today or tomorrow. Would never recommend this product because the customer support is horrible and unreliable.

This is great for HDTV. They have more costly version for UHD TV's. But this works for my UHD TV as well. The quality is great. Good responses. I had 1st Gen chromecast which was a bit slow but not this one.

Awesome, but I wish I could use it more like Apple TV. You get what you pay for and its worth every cent. But if they were able to extend it so I could show anything on my computer screen, that would be awesome.

The product is the same price everywhere but best buy was the only place that had them in stock. This item is amazing for people without cable. Just stream anything you want from your phone or laptop to your TV.
