bought it for my cousin and it was buy one get one . chromecast has changed the way i use to watch tv . cable is not necessary for the tv when you have fast internet and chromecast. i stream everything on my tv

I received a first generation chromecast as a gift, and I loved that it was able to be controlled through my phone and/or tablet, it was more portable than my blu-ray player so they could be taken with us when travelling...but the first generation crashed a lot, however, so when this came out it touted not only new features but more reliability. Sadly, I've been through two and have not found this the case. With two different casts, It won't even connect to my device without unplugging it completely and rebooting it every time I use it. I would stick to a smart tv, or I may try a roku box...

This is the best streaming device I could have ever got I can watch anything I want and it doesn't use a lot of phone battery. I love this over Apple TV.

Had to replace my Chromecast (old model) because my son broke it. Don't ask me how he did it. Anyway, replaced it with new model and am more than happy with the additional options it has.

Purchased this for a friend for their second home. Allows them to stream content, entertainment and tv at their new home via compatible apps and their primary cable service package login.

The only thing I wish it would do is mirror from iPhone. Though this might be an iPhone restriction not Chromecast. If some of the TV channel apps were Chromecast compatible this wouldn't be a problem, though. (NBC Sports network, HGTV, etc.)

We love the Chromecast! We can cast YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon to our TV from our cell phones (Samsung Note's). We will be putchasing a second unit for the other TV, as well.

This new chromecast won't cast videos from my s6 edge plus or tab s while the original chromecast would. Works great with netflix, youtube, and Google play - but the original did too. So I lost $50 on these and can't cast my .avi movies, or anything else as I could. If it worked on the original stick these newer great things should work too. The setup will start. And when I open the chromecast app, then select cast from the upper left bars, that screen will appear. But in 13 seconds it displays connection lost. This is on a tv just 2 feet from the modem and phone as I stood beside them and my bedroom tv right above the modem. As I said, worked perfectly with the stick.

The chromecast is a great add on to your television. It connects with my phone and works perfectly. I also have a roku, so I use them both daily. Definitely recommend this product

The Chromecast design has been reworked, but there's not much new here. If you used the first generation, you'll be very familiar with how things work. My only complaint is that it doesn't always stop running when my TV is off.

I recently purchased a cheap 32 inch TV that doesn't have smart features, with this I was able to make it to a smart TV and I saved a lot of money.

Bought this thinking I would be able to watch my downloaded movies and cast them to the chromecast well it did cast but voice and lips were off when it cast over to the tv. Then attempted to watch netflix on it and it wouldn't let me stop the video had to completely disconnect it from the back so that it would stop playing. After I purchased it I read that the original Chromecast was a lot better then this new 2015, I would recommend not buying it will be returning it in a few minutes. The only good thing was that I used rewards points to buy it and it was free. Im probably going to swap it out for the fire stick

Very easy to set up. The image quality is great! I use it mostly with YouTube. I'm glad I bought it because I can use it with my mobile phone, tablet or laptop.

We have an older one, but were traveling to the beach so I picked this up. Works great with all of our Android phones. Convenient form factor for travel.

The Chromecast is awesome. Works great and provides access to a ton of content via a phone or tablet. Only downside is lack of browser for logging into Hotel WiFi. Makes using this in a hotel a bit of a pain.

They had no TV, and can't afford cable, so this and the TV we gave them allows them to watch some of their favorite shows and movies without the cost of cable.

I replaced my origional chromecast with the new version. This new version is a little faster loading. I watch a lot of YouTube videos so this works great for me.

I have a Chromecast on every TV in my house. This was the first Gen2 Cast I bought. BestBuy had it, I wanted it, and I couldn't be happier. Glitches are no more.

Nice for kids to be able to watch YouTube videos on something larger than their phone or tablet. Will upgrade to the 4k version as soon I have a 4k TV.

New digs, new internet service. My old chromecast couldn't read the new 5ghz network. Now it can! Glad it was only $35 to get a new one. My wallet is happy.
