This is a helpfull device to view what is either on your phone, tablet or computer on your television, especialy if you dont have a smart TV or smart blue-ray player. Videos or movies from Netflix, HBO, Fox, Starz, or YouTube can all be 'cast' to your TV. Unfortunatly, Cinemax does not work with this product as of now. Great to use while traveling.

Just amazes me how fast it works on our tv master bedroom. Just absolutely use phones or any devices and automatically connect to internet with very clear display! I don’t need to spend another $400-$500 for a WiFi or smart tv because this google chrome cast does everything!!!planning to get another one for our living room.

This is my first Chromecast experience. I have used it both at hotels and at my home and it works flawless. for the price you can't beat this cool streaming Gadget. It's easy to set up and the quality is amazing.

I bought Chromecast because of a recommendation from an employee. I wanted to be able to watch Netflix on my TV because I don't have cable. I also wanted it to be cheap because, obviously, I'm cheap and don't have cable. I am very satisfied with the results. It is better to use if you have Chrome and an Android phone because the apps sync better.

I have a TV in my kitchen that isn't hooked up to cable anymore and it was just wasting space. I went to BestBuy and spoke with a couple of associates about how to stream what was on my phone to the TV and this was their suggestion. It works like a charm. It was pretty easy to setup and now I stream games from the WatchESPN app to it while cooking. I can take care of my family and my need to watch college basketball at the same time.

Put simply, the Chromecast lets you play photos, videos, or music from laptops / tablets / phones on your TV. No wires needed! Google’s Chromecast is a dongle that fits into your TV’s HDMI port. It needs power to work. Much like charging a phone, you can fit its cable into a power socket or into a USB-port on your TV. You can use it for: U can browse Netflix on your phone, but watch the videos on your TV. Photos on your phone can be shown on the big screen, with the Google Photos app. Like videos and photos, you can cast music from supported apps like Google Play Music to your TV to use any speakers connected to it. With the Chrome browser on your desktop, you can cast any tab or your entire computer’s screen to the TV. It’s fantastic for presentations. Some of the features are great, Have used it a lot as its much more snappier than the built in smart apps on TV. Love the ability to use Plex. The supported apps just keep growing.

Purchased this as a Black Friday bargain. It’s a great asset for those moments when you have visitors over and would like to show a video over the big screen quickly. I also stream DirectTV Now with the Chromecast, and it works flawlessly. I haven’t ran into an app that it couldn’t handle. Being an iPhone owner, I do prefer the Apple TV, but the cost of the chromecast is too good to pass up.

I was choosing between Roku and Google. What I need is to watch Youtube videos or other apps on TV. The employee at Best buy was very helpful. I bought this one and I really love it. It is super easy to install and use. The best thing is if I watch Youtube videos on TV, there is no commercials to interrupt. Great value.

Two added improvements to the new chromecast make it worth the price. First, extended Wifi capability allows for farther range and faster signal. Second the ability to cache songs so there's little to no delay when streaming music. Great device. It's worth getting if you don't already have one, and it's even worth getting if you have the original!

Its a chromecast. Just, newer, better. Works like a chromecast. The built-in HDMI cable is great. Often get great deals through chromecast app for free movies etc. Anyone who hates on the "lack of functionality" doesn't know what they bought. This allows you to stream from your phone or chrome browser... and does a great job of that - period.

Picture quality is really good & streaming is easy

The Chromecast is a great product. It is the best deal in steaming. The update fixes some minor issues with the first generation. The design of the new one fits better on some TVs, depending on HDMI layout. The previous gen didn't always play nice and leave room for other HDMI cables. The addition of 5ghz band wifi is great also. My router is crowded with many other devices. Streaming load times are much faster on the 5ghz band,

The Chromecast connected and went through setup easily. The only difficulty I've encountered concerns finding content to cast. For example, even though the Super Bowl was carried on the CBSSports app, you couldn't cast it. Also, apparently casting from the mobile version of Chrome browser isn't available either. Only PC-based versions. From a hardware perspective, this thing is pretty solid -- once you find compatible content!
