    I use it mainly for Netflix and Youtube; and it works amazingly well. It lets any device in my wifi network to control it, and it's simpler and more reliable to use it besides the same services of my smart TV (a samsung one). For the future, when I'll upgrade my TV set, I prefer a plain TV without smart capabilities; because a chromecast is the only thing you need to turn it into a real smart TV.
