The cromcast is the beset streaming device out there. It can cast from smart phones, computers, and tablets. It can cast from various apps like netflix, hulu, youtube, google music, google movies, etc.

I have the previous model and between the two there isn't much of a difference. But since the price is the same then I would recommend the new version unless you can get the old version at a lower price.

I love this product it works well with all of my devices and tv's, i would recommend this for anyone that is looking to cast videos from their phones easily. The only issue is that its sometimes doesn't recognize the wifi when I move it between wifi networks.

You never know what kind of television reception you will have on vacation. We used this device to cast Netflix and Hulu from our phones to the TV. It saved the rainy days when we couldn't get outside!

The smart TV I bought six years ago was no longer smart. The apps were no longer supported, and the only reliable way to stream content was to plug a 25' HDMI into my laptop. The Chromecast was the perfect inexpensive way to breathe new life into my TV. Nearly all of the major streaming services and major networks have apps that work seamlessly with the Chromecast, and when all else fails, I can send content from the browser on my computer. Great purchase.

Great way to stream Netflix and other TV shows. Even for someone who has absolutely zero tech skills - the guys at Best Buy showed me how to put it together - someone had taken it apart and explained how to download so I can show my shows on the TV. Love it!

Chromcast functionality and performance is often better than the apps running on Smart TVs. The ability to control everything through an app on your phone and screen mirroring adds additional benefits.

Google's Chromecast is a well designed and well priced alternative to Roku and apple TV. With the Chromecast cutting the cord from the TV cable provider monolith has never been easier. The images and videos from my phone load to my TV screen without delay and also look very nice. The Chromecast also lets you cast directly from your device, so whatever your watching or even working on will prop up on your screen. This device delivered on everything I needed.

i love the chromecast because you can play practically everything form your phone tablet or laptop to it. its so useful and it extremely easy to use and you can name your device. i love the chromecast

We liked the first one we bought so much we purchased another for ourselves and extras for friends and family. Its nice to be able to stream content with such a small device. Picture quality is great!

It was so easy to set up and is very convenient. We use our phones for everything and streaming what we love to watch on our small screens looks even better on our big screen TV. Great for the price.

We have a mixed Apple/Android house and I wanted something we could all use to stream various music and content to our TV/sound system. While other solutions are rather brand specific, ChromeCast works with Apple, Android, and ChromeOS devices, exactly what I needed. Setup was a breeze and streaming content, regardless of which device, is super easy. Couldn't be happier and for the price, this definitely can't be beat.

Bought this after checking various streaming devices and definitely the easiest. Turns on my TV when I hit cast on any device which I don’t like. Have to figure out how to stop that.

Bought this for a projector in my basement to watch sports while working out. I have directv so I have access to most apps, which I can find almost any major sporting event on one of the apps. It’s easy to set up and get started. You need your phone to work it but once it starts casting you can do other things like play music on your phone. Not sure if I would love it if it were my only source of TV, but is great as a supplement.

Didn't realize it required the app to run on your device (phone or tablet, therefore using their batteries) and then mirrored on tv thru Chromecast. But overall really nice and easy-to-handle device.

What can I say other than the Chromecast is an excellent device. So easy to setup and use. Just pull up the app you want to stream from and connect to the Chromecast using the icon built into the app.

Works, but if you have a smart TV don't bother. I both this primarily for casting from my computer to the TV and it works great. I haven't used it for anything else, but I do want my reward bonus points, so I continue to push to the fifty word requirement.

I love my Chromecast. First used one in a lake house I was renting. Loved the no cable connection to my iPad. Was great for movies in the evening. Bought one for my living room TV and once my daughter figured out it was so easy to use she was casting all the time. So, picked up this one for her to connect to her TV. Highly recommend even for Smart TV's. Great little inexpensive device. Only regret is that it is not easier to use for hotel travel.
