I have two FireSticks and one Chromecast. The Chromecast is better for my teenage daughter who likes to stream Netflix and YouTube on her Iphone and Ipad. She likes the ability to control the TV with her phone and switch seamlessly between the TV and her device. It's a much better transition than with the FireStick. Picture is great .

I love Google Chromecast. The casting feature is so easy to use and is seamless. I haven't had a connectivity issue at all, and my videos look super crispy on the 4k tv. I went with the regular Chromecast, and still looks amazing on my 4k tv. I like that the dongle has a magnet and attaches to the Chromecast to prevent some clutter.

I bought this having a fire tv stick already but wanted a way to cast from my computer to my tv without an hdmi cable. This works great. And from what I've heard a lot faster than the 1st gen version. Casting every supported app from my phone is a breeze and the image quality is great. Also I was surprised to see that I could use it as a dlna receiving device.

Used to use an HDMI to Thunderbolt Adapter when I had an iMac but since switching to an Alienware PC and moving my computer across the room mirror my screen or streaming content to my TV was impossible without a 20ft HDMI cable.
Chromecast (coupled with Google Chrome's desktop or tab mirroring) works PERFECTLY for what I like to do. Play stuff on my PC and have it appear on my TV for when others are viewing as well besides just myself. Crystal clear HDMI quality streaming (if your internet/wifi is strong enough), No lag at all with sound or video.
All around great product, and also has native compatibility built-in with almost every popular streaming app. Netflix, Youtube, Twitch, Crackle, HBO, the list goes on and on. Highly recommended!

This is my second chromecast. It is my first gen2. Super easy to install and very impressed by the number of Chromecast compatible Android apps. Not quite ready to ditch cable yet... but makes your viewing choices easier than ever. Takes less than a minute to install and if you already have the Chromecast app on your phone / tablet... set up is super easy

The chrome player was purchased to allow guests to view streamed content over my network. Most everyone has a netflix or hulu acct. This allows anyone to stream from a phone, tablet or computer. Very easy set up. This has been a bonus for work assignments and helping kids with homework. You can display anything from a android or chrome. Great price point.

takes awhile to figure out. I bought this device not only to stream Netflix (which is simple) but to cast movies from my WDmycloud. Still working out the bugs, but with the use of the various apps offered by Chrome, it works well off my laptop for movies on my laptop, but still have a ways to go before I can use the cloud. Device is easy to use off ipad, but does suddenly drop during the middle of a game using the Espn app from time to time.

Couldn't be happier with the Chromecast. I get high quality video and audio. Dead simple to setup, works seemlessly. Recently added a Chromecast Audio and Google Home Mini to the mix, and it's a life changer. No more crowding around a tiny laptop screen to watch streaming video, no need for another set top box. Just 'cast it.

Very easy to set up and use with my iPhone as well as Windows PC. Needed to download another app to cast my pics and videos taken from my phone, lots available for that. Not all apps will cast from phone, eg Amazon prime video, but pretty good selection still. Ability to cast desktop or chrome browser works great as well- watched a prime movie this way the other night while the kids used my other TV- piece of cake to move to another TV.

I used to have the previous version of Google Chromecast and it was good already but this 2015 version is over the roof! The easy setup still exists and works great.
The problems with the product size where solved with this innovative design. It fits great on the TV and also looks nice.
No money for a smart TV? Get this one, you won't regret it!

The GoogleChromecast is the only way I watch my Netflix app anymore. The setup process for the Google Chromecast took only a few minutes after opening the box and I was able to easily use my Apple iPhone as a remote control to stream Netflix to my TV. It's a portable, inexpensive alternative to Apple TV and I would highly recommend the purchase.

I really like Googles Chromecast and tell all my friends about it. The price is reasonable and there are lots of choices when it comes to programs and apps that use it. There is a slight problem though. My router, the device I'm using to use it and my Chromecast are all in the same room and yet I still have a hard time getting it to work properly sometimes. If there is a way to get updates I would probably like it even better.

Chromecast is the best way to watch internet on your TV. No need to nafigate smart TV menus. Simply select the source then use your phone or PC to "cast" the content you want to watch to the TV. Works great for Netflix, youtube, and countless other sources. I'm buying more!

Great for using with a Samsung "DUMB" TV

Have a SAMSUNG SMART TV that used to be able to mirror with phone both ways - from SAMSUNG SMART Phone to SAMSUNG TV and vice versa. This year, Samsung has royally screwed up their SmartView app and capability to mirror! (Lots of customer complaints online! The Samsung Smart TV built in Web Browser is a sad JOKE !) After many days and nights wasting hour upon hour screwing with the Samsung cr@p apps and my expensive Samsung "Smart" TV, I decided to try a Google Chromecast device. And without much setup effort it works very well mirroring my Samsung smart phone to my Samsung "DUMB" and expensive TV.
I use the Google Chromecast V4.3 app, and its "Cast screen / audio" feature, on my Samsung SIII smart phone which is running Android 4.4.2. (FYI: This does not work with my Samsung TAB 3 running Android 4.2.2, must be running Android 4.4.2 or later. Still trying to get my Samsung TAB3 upgraded to Android V4.4.2 - more wasted time!)

I had been researching different multimedia devices and chose to go with the new Chromecast. It's very easy to set up with the app for iOS allows me to "cast" different apps to my TV through the device. It also works with my receiver so I don't need to have it plug in directly to the TV and I can use the receiver remote to control the volume.

Got this to avoid buying a cable to hook my phone up to the TV. So far it works great. I have not experienced any lag and the picture is spot on perfect. Works perfectly with my Samsung s5 and my iPad mini. Only downside is Chromecast app will not cast screen from iOS.

It was really quick and easy to get the Chromecast up and running. It has been working great since then (~2 months). Sometimes I have trouble on my (old) phone but the casting itself has been glitch-free.
I got it on a combo deal with an RCA HD TV antenna, which though, seems to be no better than the old non-HD antenna I already have.
