My TV is able to cast from my phone but there's so many steps to take to get this done that I can't remember without getting my manual, therefore I never use this feature even though I like being able to see my pictures and play my music on the TV from my phone.

Great product and price! Didn’t like that the newer one needs to be plugged in at the outlet. Our original one powers directly through the TV. Other than that, very satisfied.

Setup can be a bit tricky sometimes and I have had it need a reset once or twice but for the most part these are dependable little devices. These days most iPhone apps have a "cast" option if plays video, music, photos, etc. and the process of casting is dummyproof.

It makes it incredibly to create presentations wherever you go as long as you have a wifi connection. Even hanging out with friends and sharing YouTube videos on a shared screen is a breeze and a fun benefit of owning a Chromecast.

Connectivity Issues

Not being airplay capable was an issue but even moreso, it became really frustrating casting sites like YouTube and others because my mobile device could not locate the device. The ChromeCast device had to be unplugged each time and reconnected prior to casting.
