Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Chromecast's ease of use, streaming capabilities, and picture quality. Many appreciate its affordability and the ability to transform a standard TV into a smart TV. However, some users experienced connectivity issues, and the lack of a physical remote control was a common point of feedback. The small size and generally positive performance were also frequently noted.

This was a good upgrade to the original. Main difference is that it supports the faster 5 GHz wifi so you have a strong/faster connection to your router.

We had the old version of Google Chrome and decided to finally by grade as some functions were not working the best after 5 years. The only thing I do not like is how low it hangs piece from the computer.

Works great I have three of them now on three different TVs you can name them different names for your different devices so you know which ones are which and if we have any problems is probably your Internet service.

I have been unable to complete the connection of the chromecast to my home network, so I don’t know if will perform as expected. It is plugged into the hdmi slot and I can find it when I search, but the code never shows up on the tv.

The device works fine... when it works. However almost every time - when I want to start casting - there is a need to disconnect it from power and connect again - otherwise the casting device does not succeed to connect to it. Unclear why.

Nice, but each user has use their phone as remote.

I’m used to a Roku with Sling, Netflix, Hulu, and Prime. When you use the Chromecast — each user has to either use your phone, or download the GoogleHome app on their phone and sign into each of the apps such as Netflix, Sling, Hulu, and Prime with their access ID for each. If you have a visitor staying with you, you can give them guest access on their phone and they have to to download everything also. This has been my experience so far, since there is no remote with Chromecast- you have to use your phone as the remote. This feature sounded cool, but has been more cumbersome as we have seen than we originally thought.

Bought this to use with my Google home voice assistants. Especially useful if you use YouTube TV to stream your television content. Just say, "Hey Google, watch ESPN" (or any other network) and you're there.

Great product but does not display 4K. I bought the product to pair with google home nest mini, so it could turn on my LG tv. The product did work but it takes over the smart tv with its built in apps displaying 1080p. I had just bought a 4k tv with built in apps.

I bought this on the advice of my twenty year old and it seems to work just fine. I'd also give as a gift to someone who may be looking to broaden their horizons in what they have access to on the television.

Chromecast worked, then bricked my Samsung 65" TV

The Chromecast worked fine the first time we used it to view the video from a VR headset. The next day, however, the TV wouldn't turn on. After a lot of troubleshooting, we discovered that the TV actually turned on but we couldn't get a picture (or sound). We could get a minimal menu to display at the bottom of the screen for a few seconds, but the TV wouldn't allow us to make any selections--it was stuck on the HDMI port that the Chromecast had occupied. We tried numerous times to get the TV working, but all failed. I'm not sure if I can entirely blame the Chromecast because I've since found out that Samsung has some sort of automatic searching on the HDMI port which may not play nicely with other devices. Buyer beware if you have a Samsung TV.

same old Chromecast same price for this one, metal and the only thing with this one is that is actually not metal but it's the same old thingif you have a old TV that's not smart and we can and then this is probably okay for you but if you have a smart TV there's no need for this

First of all, you don't have to turn on tv separately when you chrome casting while tv is off. Second of all, it's faster to cast than older generations of chrome cast. Image quality unsure of

This device is okay for what it is. I was expecting to be able to actually cast from a device to the Chromecast, but that isn't the way these work. Your phone, tablet or PC sends a URLto the Chromecast which then connects to the internet and access the content from the destination (Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, etc). Can still find uses for it, but it did not meet the need I have. Any actual casting software always has a delay. It would be great if someone would come up with an actual casting device with no delay. If you have a smart tv, you can use your television's remote to control the content once it is displayed on your screen. Or at least I can with my Samsung. Otherwise, you have to use your device as the remote.

I am so glad that I bought this product for myself. I was trying to stop using cables to hook up my laptop to my hd television. This product pretty much eliminated me having to do the connecting of a bunch of cables.

Overall I like them. I have them in most tv’s of the house. Works well with google home system. I gave the Chromecast 4 stars bc I occasionally find myself wishing they done more or were more like the apple tv’s. But if streaming onto the tv from your phone is what you’re wanting, it’ll work nicely.

Must have if you have an Amazon Box and HBO Max -- because Amazon and HBO could not come to an agreement. Well worth a few bucks to get your HBO movies and TV Shoes on the big screen.

My old insignia t.v was literally used just for dvd’s For my daughters. Now they can watch Netflix and whatever else they please. No complains and love the quick responsiveness from my google home to my chromcast.
