We use it when traveling when hotels/air BnBs allow us access to their televisions.

Excellent for Google Smart home and casting your computer screen to the TV. If you don't have any other Google products or need to cast your PC, I'd buy a RokuTV stick instead however.

Chromecast was designed to use your mobile phone as your remote control. And if you´re willing to try, you can still watch your favorite shows on your TV by either casting it with your preferred cast-enabled streaming apps like Netflix, which will have a ¨Cast¨ button within the app, or by mirroring what you see on your mobile phone to your TV. Here's how:
- Get started by installing your preferred app on your Android or tablet device. To turn on microphone permissions on your Android device, tap Settings >
Scroll down and tap Apps > and then Google Play Services > and then Permissions. Look for "Microphone" and slide the slider On.
- Cast your screen from your Android device. Make sure your mobile phone or tablet is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast device. Open the Google Home app > tap the device you want to cast your screen to > tap Cast my screen > and then Cast screen.
