Used to have the first gen Chromecast device (the one that shaped like a USB stick). After moving out of the house, I decided to buy another one for myself. Didn't think I would need the 4K version, so I got this. Personal experience: Everything just works right out of the box. Connects and stream things seamlessly from my computer, phone, laptop. It works perfectly with my Google Mini as well. No issues!

These are amazing if you use Android and Google products. They have gotten faster and more reliable with update but the old ones still work. I wouldn't use it 100% of the time for TV watching, but for casting content here and there and audio playback it's great. Add a Google speaker and you can talk and cast which this really shines. For the money - great value!

If you have already invested in the Google Home ecosystem, then this is a great addition. I just wish that I could ask Google to stream a specific movie or something on a site thats not supported. For example I can stream Peacock from my phone onto chromecast, but I can't ask it to play the office without issues.

Chromecast works great for people who find it more convenient to control everything via the phone than a remote control. Searching is much easier, because you can type on the phone. Browsing isn't as nice, because you don't get a nice scrollable UI on the big screen. A big bonus is the ability to display Google photos on the TV. It's like having a huge photo frame.

Works really well! easy to set up! A trick to steaming other things like amazon prime video and things none google is on my laptop I got google chrome browser and you can stream your browser to it so then I just play whatever I need to through that works great

We now have streaming TV in the bedroom, due to this small, unobtrusive device. Getting it to work is a bit of a chore at times, as it must be linked to a phone or tablet that has the Google Home app installed, and the speed of your phone or tablet will determine how easy it is to connect and stream. Much cheaper than a "smart" TV and, since you are displaying on the TV whatever you have displayed on your tablet, the entirety of the Internet becomes your playground.

I like this product. It works well and it's cheap. I even showed my mom how to use it.

Normally this would be an easy setup BUT you can't set it up with a Pixel phone!!! I had to borrow my friends Android and from there it was follow the on screen instructions. Once it is setup, it works just as you would expect. I like that I can cast from my computer.
