google stealing my money again

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.another way google steals our money and makes us buy product more expensive than we need. i am forced to use casting with some streaming because gets around copyrights. but all i want it the cheapest solution. but unless you get the more expensive chromecast with a remote that i have no need of since i can do what i want with my Ipad, i can't run to off. so it constantly draws power. i spent about an hour on the phone with google support and was told there is no way around it other than unplugging from power when not using it. why? if you can make an app to control it why not make it so it will turn it off and then use the signal from the HDMI connection to turn it back on? but this way one is forced to buy a more expensive unit.
