Not only do our devices have a hard time connecting to it, even when the Chromecast is clearly connected to the internet you can tell by the pictures on the screen), and our devices are connected to it, we have trouble casting and have to turn each off and on a few times to get it to work. I remember it being very frustrating to set up, and the instructions and on line articles weren't very helpful either. We would have returned it if we lived closer.

To improve your casting experience, please follow the steps below:
- Your Android device and Chromecast device should be within ~15 feet (4 meters) of each other. The Chromecast should be ~15 feet (4 meters) away from the router, or less.
- Make sure both your Chromecast device and Android device are both connected to the same Wi-fi network channel, either 2.4GHz or 5GHz, with the preference to the 5GHz band since it can provide a much faster connection speed.
- All the Android devices used with Chromecast must be running Android 4.4.2 or higher to support the Cast screen feature.
- You may also want to check for congestion with your Wi-Fi network. If removing your connected devices improves your casting experience, then you may need to contact your Internet service provider for resolution.
