Good when it's working

I even gave my father one for his birthday for his office, so he can watch his own cable when he's not home. It's also great for watching online videos instead of having to look at a phone or tablet. I watch a lot instructional videos for sewing. It's a an absolute jewel for traveling since hotels don't always have ALL of the cable channels.

Chromecast Great/Bad- Internet Dependent

My wife uses her phone or tablet to watch movies. She pairs her devices to a Chromecast and projects/mirrors her screen to one of our TVs. I bought this Chromecast for her to use at my Dad's house. He doesn't have Internet. I can't connect my wife's devices to the Chromecast without an Internet connection. According to Google, it should be easy to connect and use. I've only tried it for two days. I'm trying to discuss this issue with someone once I return home. I've tried every option I could find on the Internet.
