Lack of a reset button makes this more annoying. But overall I'm happy when it works. It seems this problem is not uncommon among chromecast users and I can 100% rule out my wi-fi problem. I also have a Google Home with the same issue. Compared to the frustration that Google Home caused me, this chromecast is okay. But I won't choose Google products in the future. I can't believe they don't have a better solution to this.

There are some factors that may affect Chromecast performance during casting. You can try these troubleshooting steps:
- Toggle Wi-Fi off/on your phone.
- Exit any battery-draining applications that are running on the background.
- Turn off power saving mode on your device.
- Decrease the distance between the TV, casting device (phone/tablet/computer), and Wi-Fi router. The distance should be less than 15-20 feet (5-6 meters) apart, ideally within the same room.
- Keep your phone’s operating system up to date.
- Unplug both the Chromecast and the router from the power outlet and leave it for at least 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, plug it back in, and wait for it to completely reboot.
