The first one lasted for years before we left it behind. Both the old and new one have been inexpensive, no-fuss, reliable streaming devices. They take about five minutes to set up on your wifi and after that you can cast from your phone.

You can try these steps and see if it'll resolve the issue:
- Reboot Chromecast by unplugging it from the power source for about 2 mins. Disconnect from power source not from TV's HDMI port)
- Reboot router to refresh the connection.
- If reboot doesn't resolve the issue, perform a factory reset. Keep in mind that when you perform a factory reset, all info or data on your Chromecast will be deleted and you'll have to re-setup after.
