Gave away the Roku! Only issue is that for some services, the sound not very loud and I have to turn it way up on my TV.

I already had the Google Home app because I have a Google Nest wifi which I really love. I have tried multiple apps to cast with and it works. The reason for the 2 stars is that after about 2.5 hours the casting becomes unstable at best. Being that a typical sporting event is 3-4 hours that can be a problem. I tested it with the NHL app, Paramount + and the Spectrum TV app all from my brand new iPad mini. Same results. I’ve had other users tell me they’ve experienced similar issues with a combination of different hardware. I suppose if you only want to cast an hour or two it’s great, otherwise I’d stay away. As far as just casting/mirroring your devices screen to it I only tested that long enough to see if/how it worked and I tested it with both the iPad and my Pixel phone. That seemed to be fine but it was only a several minute test.

- If you have a dual band router, try setting up your Chromecast on either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands and see which band is more stable. Make sure that the set up device is on the same network as the Chromecast.
- We recommend that your Chromecast, wireless router, and device used to cast are all located in close proximity to one another. This will create the best possible casting experience.

The listing stated "Google Chromecast works with a variety of laptops as well as Apple and Android devices." When I went install this, the website stated "We no longer support Chromecast setup on a computer. To set up your Chromecast, please use a mobile device." I do not own the mobile device, so now I am stuck with a useless item that I cannot return. Best Buy needs to educate themselves of the manufacturers specs before they list an item and just take a person's money.

Haven't used Chromecast since the original one launched but I am glad I picked up the newer model. Works well with my Google Home devices. Its nice to ask Google to play some music through my home entertainment system without having to fumble around with the remote.
