Setup can be a bit tricky sometimes and I have had it need a reset once or twice but for the most part these are dependable little devices. These days most iPhone apps have a "cast" option if plays video, music, photos, etc. and the process of casting is dummyproof.

Connectivity Issues

Not being airplay capable was an issue but even moreso, it became really frustrating casting sites like YouTube and others because my mobile device could not locate the device. The ChromeCast device had to be unplugged each time and reconnected prior to casting.

I have decided having a remote is better

We bought this as it was the only method to stream the Facebook oculus rift to the tv screen. We still use the roku and firestick for streaming content.

Great product and price! Didn’t like that the newer one needs to be plugged in at the outlet. Our original one powers directly through the TV. Other than that, very satisfied.
