To do that you have to plug the chromecast into a wall so it stays on when the TV is off. One big downside is that if you forget to pause or stop your programs they will keep playing for an episode or 4 after you turn off your TV. This has caused much confusion upon my return to a binge watch.

Great device for what it was made for

The Chromecast Ultra is a almost the same in terms of the normal chomecast except this has 4k output along with an ethernet port on the power adapter. I thought this was a decent price for a device with many capabilities and a a constant growing library of supported services, the only bad thing i experienced was the actual chomecast itself having a glossy finish which got scratched up on the first day of use. In terms of functionality, the ultra is fantastic.
