The next step up in the Chromecast family is a pleasant one. Faster and more responsive than the previous model, the Chromecast Ultra is wonderful. The only thing keeping the last star from the review is that this model requires an outlet to power it at opposed to the power being supplied via USB like the previous ones.

better than old one and recommend this for 4k tv's

I use chromecast a lot for many purpose including projecting family videos, pictures, even music! it never failed me and still going strong! I highly recommend this to anyone seeking methods to share resources from your laptop to your TV.

Husband loves this chromecast to stream 4k movies!

I am not a big fan of having everything witeless... i am so happy that this unit has an ethernet port on it. I am sure they put it on to support the higher bandwidth requirements of 4k... don't care... just happy they did it.

Purchased this to connect a computer wirelessly to my TV. the lag time was terrible. Changed over to Apple TV, and it was much better. This is an ok product for the cost, but apple is a better option.

This was my first Chromecast (been using Roku) and the latest Chromecast is powerful and interacts with my iPhone seemlessly. Casting is immediate and thre fact that I can control the volume with my phone is one of my favorite features. Highly recommend!

Didn’t like that you have to use the phone to use this to change channels.

A great device to use on TV. My grand kids always want to watch video on the phone, which has a very small screen. Now they can watch it on TV with Chromecast.

Love this gadget! If you don’t have a smart tv, definitely consider this device. Easy to connect computers, laptops, and phones to it. It does get VERY hot behind the television, when not using it, I recommend unplugging it.

This is a good 4k media player that can also do surround sound (I bought it for the HBO go surround sound capabilities). I do remove one star because it has issues with being plugged in and not used for several days. It appears that the wifi speeds tank and the unit requires a unplug and replug to regain speeds.

Been starting to play with connected home stuff and this in my favorite piece of hardware. Talk to google home automatically shows Netflix or hulu to display on tv without remote. I am using it with a sony 930E but love my ultra chromecast.

Had a Chromecast standard version, needed another for a second TV. The extra features with the ultra version are nice. I particularly like the fact that it powers via AC cord rather than occupying a USB port on the television. It's the little things.

Awesome way to make a TV sudo smart. The ease of use of the chrome-cast is what keeps bringing me back this is the 5th chrome-cast i have purchased due to leaving them with friends. Everyone needs one.

I had very high hopes for this item, which I thought would help stream programming/music/photos, etc, and that I could mirror my phone easier. Unfortunately, the technology needs to be more improved and its functionality is rather limited.

I bought this in hopes that I could stream Netflix to my Samsung TV and Atmos soundbar. After getting things up and running I found out that currently Atmos stop streaming through Netflix is not supported. Hopefully Google can addresses in a future software update.

My daughter's TIVO died after many years and since she refuse to purchase a new one, we gifted her the Chromecast. She LOVES it! She play her music, she streams her shows and also watches her favorite shows!

If you don't mind casting movies, youtube, etc, to your big screen, using a cell phone, tablet or other device, then you are going to love the Google Chromecast Ultra. When and if Google Chromecast Ultra comes with a on tv screen guide and remote, these Chromecast will fly off the shelves.
