When this came out in 2017, 4K streaming was still pretty new. Even today, it's still a fantastic streaming media device that will last you for a good while. It has an ethernet port for fast connections too.

I've owned previous versions of Chromecast and never had connectivity issues as I do with this version. I thought for sure that by upgrading to a newer version I would have at least the same quality but expected better. I upgraded my internet service and still have the same issue with losing connection so I know that it isn't my internet. Overall I would recommend the Chromecast because the features Chromecast offers are pretty neat and basically turns your basic television into a smart TV but not sure that this version of the product is the best out there. It could be the chromecast I received and not all of them. I also think the pricing is a bit too high for what you get as well.

Better get an amazon fire tv, no options and no remote control

The Chromecast Streaming Media Player worked seamlessly for wirelessly connecting smart phone to HDMI jack of TV for anything between basic picture show to streaming video from phone apps.

I love this thing. It is a beast and has worked flawlessly since I got it. I am a cord cutter so I use it quite a bit to cast streaming services to it and everything loads super quick. The 4K resolution is a plus since I have a 4K TV.

I am pleased with this device. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to sever their ties with cable companies. Also, I enjoy being able to turn my TV on and off with my Google Assistant as a result of the Chromecast.

Don't get me wrong I love the Google brand I love all their features in Google the only thing that I do not like about this Google Chromecast is the only way you can use this is through your phone or other devices if you do not carry a SmartTV this is the best way to cast your movies or other features that you want. I will say it again if you do not carry a Smart TV that doesn't play apps or Internet Chromecast is the way to go you can only cast from your phone or other devices.

Live chromecast, this one is definitely better processor, helps to get that faster wifi signal in your house in the 5ghz AC network, definitely better for the 4k HDR streaming apps.

I wanted to get this to have another zone for my home theater speakers with my Google mini and hubs set up. Works perfect with that. Especially integrated with the Logitech harmony setup.

I've been using this for months now and it's amazing! I plugged it into a non-smart tv and brings it to life being able to explore different apps and use google assistant. Love it!

Sometimes it gets hot. Oftentimes it loses network availability. It gets the job done. At this point this is an old gen version so it's basically obsolete. But yeah. It works.

The CCU was introduced in October 2016 and similar to other 4K streaming devices like Roku, was rushed to market for the holiday season while still not ready for prime time. Incompatibility with 4K receivers and other pass-through hardware, as well as HDMI hand-shaking issues with 4K TVs was reported for multiple brands. Google released several software updates, but as of March 2017, the CCU still loses signal when connected directly to a 4K HDMI port on my Hisense 4K TV when I go to another input and then come back to the CCU. The only solution is to reboot the CCU from the Google Home app, which is very frustrating. CCU forum Google representative suggested signing the CCU up for the preview program, but no new software updates have been pushed and the "no signal" bug persists.

Package came and easy to install to TV with no problem. Connected to my Google Mini right away and I was able to stream movies and connect to lightning fixture in room (with purchase of specific google acceptable bulbs).

So I bought the chromecast and connected it to my google home works excellent turns my tv on and off changes the volume all with voice command n also screen mirror love my chrome cast would recommend this product .!!

need a good wifi connection to link Chromecast to phone and TV. Can't rely on phone data to stream from phone to tv unless I am unaware of this feature. Overall great product. Easy to use and sync.

If you havent gotten one yet I would definitely look into it. When you do get it, I would suggest 6 Underground on Netflix Ryan Reynolds is SEXY in this & the picture does his justice.

I love that you are able to control it from any device to your TV, super convenient, I'm also upgrading from the regular to the Ultra. I have Smart TVs but I like this option much better.

If you dont have a smart tv and you don’t have Chromecast...get it! It’s awesome being able to stream things from my phone to my tv on demand.. and the price is great!

Me and my husband thought it was best to control with our phones what kids can watch. Easy to download. Best of all no waisting on monthly bills. If you can watch it on your phone you can watch it on the TV.

Not sure what you can say about a Google Chromecast, but it works as advertised. This is my 3rd one, I like them, because I can cast my entire desktop. You won't be watching video of the casting, but for screen share it's great.
