An improvement over previous generations. Still suffers from audio fallback limitations, meaning some setups will not experience full surround sound when streaming from some sources.

I bought four of these for my office. Three have been used to date along with the three 55" TCLs I bought. All work well. The fourth will be held for a satellite office.

I cast Netflix and YouTube through my phone or iPad and uploads videos almost instantly to my TV. Within the applications I just press the cast button and video shows on my TV.

The Ultra id definitely better than the Chromecast 2015 with faster application launch and faster Wifi, but I would suggest you to wait till Oct 2018 for some newer version.

It really works. I have a sonny 4k and I tried to screen mirror the hunters. Either I am a idiot or google chrome cast created this product for me

I turned my old 55" Vizio into a 55" smart TV. I highly recommend it if you don't have a smart TV and would like to. It's a cheaper option.

I am happy with this purchase. Works well as long as you have stable wifi. It also needs a wall outlet close which the older models did not. I would buy again.

I use a Chromecast throughout my entire house as well as in my office it has always work pretty good. 4K version I now have improved resolution. Definitely recommend

the chromecast allows u to convert any tv to a 'smart' tv. simply plug into a hdmi port and plug it into the wall and you're pretty much good to go. set up will be 10-20min at most. fully intergrates with the google home also.

I have a first generation Chromecast that was having buffering issues despite a 250mb download speed. I bought this and now have ightning quick connectivity and no lag or buffering.

It is perfect if you are running a smart home based around google products. Allows you to turn on and off your TV through the google home. only downfall is that it loses connection far more often than I thought it would

It works very well, pretty much like a usual Chromecast would—but it doesn’t always live up to the 4K billing, can stutter a good bit with 4K content. Make sure your wireless network is powerful enough to accommodate it.

I'm very impressed with the quality, reliability of this product and it fits in the palm of your hand, takes no space at all and can be easily hidden in back of your TV.

Love it, though I miss the old Nexus player that let you install apps. The wifi on this seems to get really hot and then slow down. Could be the 2.4g... Haven't tried on 5g networks yet.

Our household just switched out all Apple products and now use Android devices. We have been using an Apple TV so this review is biased by the ease of use of Apple TV for the last several years. Chromecast was easy to install but there is no streaming like ROKU or Apple TV. We had to "cast" our streaming video from our Android phones or Chromebook. I don't get why people want to go the extra step and be required to use another device to cast to a TV. We returned it to Best Buy for an FIre Stick.

Overall, very good product, but be warned, if you use proxy server on your phone/ tablet for privacy, streaming won't work even with GPS on. If you try you have to reboot the Chromecast, kill the proxy server, then try again.

Owning gen 1 chromecast and roku, this is the fastest video casting device. I watch a lot of YouTube videos and subscribe to YouTube TV and this device is perfect for those.

You'll get more value for your money if you buy it together with the google stadia controller if you'd like to stream google stadia games

In addition to the fact that there a number of apps, I can cast directly from my phone. Going in the direction of"cutting the cord" and this will make it so much easier.

This is a great upgrade from the original chromecast. Like the inline ethernet cable use. Just watch out for the magnet if you have anything that will be affected by the magnet.
