This does a lot for the money. The only drawback is is that when you use the voice assistant it records everything you say and stores it on your history

Need to realize this does not replace a amazon fire or apple tv, it streams from your phone or computer only. It has a wonderful picture and connects easily.

Start streaming in the Chromecast world easily by hooking up to your HDMI and connect. I can now connect TV and video with receivers , speakers and bass.

I bought a Chromecast as a curiosity. It does what it's supposed to, but I'm not a huge fan of the ecosystem after using it for a while and being reliant on apps to make my TV experience great. I am docking one star as I've noticed a few weird playback bugs I haven't seen elsewhere (frame drops with YouTube, etc). While I personally would not recommend it (and would recommend Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, etc instead), it's still a quality device that I can see the value of.

This meets all your needs, from Netflix to smart casting your own videos on your TV. This and lower end Google Chromecasts are great investments you can take anywhere with you.

Good for TV's that are not smart and have the now common features. Perfect for a Tv that is used in the garage or outside that is not as new.

Nice to have the ethernet port on the charging brick as well now, although streaming Netflix 4k over AC WiFi hasn't had any noticeable performance issues.

Great present. She loved it since she never knew she could watch her youtube cooking videos on her TV from her phone. Happy mother in law = an easier family visit.

Works nicely for watching Web content, netflix, etc on my office tv without a cabe hookup nearby. Can definitely help one "cut the cord" with cable. Major flaw is the need for a separate, dedicated power source.

Works very well. I would think any bad reviews is because of ppl that expect something different from it. I use it with my Google Home Mini to cast. Wish it had better support for multichannel audio.

Solid product to upgrade a dumb tv to a smart tv. Simple to install, inexpensive, and does a good job upgrading an older.

If you are looking to be able to "cast" games to your TV - this is NOT what you want. If you are wanting to "cast" HD video/movies/etc - this is DEFINITELY what you want!

It’s very easy to set up and picks up good signal from my wifi. I wish it can play movies from my itunes though. Very few free movie apps can play with chrome.

Moved away from my gen 1 Chrome Cast. Stayed with this product line because I generally use to cast recently missed episodes from NBC & CBS. This is a much better product.

With the help google home and google assistant on my phone. I’m able to stream my security cameras/ movies /etc with voice commands - great device / reliable

Easy to setup and get going, chrome-cast portion not very stable, needs improvement, never managed to get the Guest mode to work, even though the steps are simple, it just doesn't connect / act well.

the item is a breeze to set-up. i am unable to cast Hulu at the moment. but it might just be operator error. stay tuned.
