    Excellent purchase does support 4k but your network has to as well. Awesome buy and would buy again!

    If you plan on plugging this device directly into your receiver, think again. I purchased this device to upgrade from my previous generation ChromeCast. Everything worked fine when I got it home and plugged it directly into my receiver. After setting up the device and it applying updates, I could no longer use the device with my receiver. I now have to plug this (piece of ____) directly into my TV, which I did not and do not want. I don't even have a 4K TV and this is the only way for me to use this device. I am highly disappointed and this will most likely be the last ChromeCast device I will be purchasing. When I purchase something, I want it to work for me and not me having to work around it; but it seems like this is the trend of these companies today. I have searched online for solutions, but I just turn up with other people going through the same issue. Google says on one of their support sites that it is meant to be plugged directly into the TV's HDMI, not the receiver. In the day and age of 4K HDMI multiport A/V Receivers and home theaters.... Really?! smh...
