The major difference between Chromecast and Chromecast Ultra is the resolution capabilities. While Chromecast can cast videos of up to 1080p resolution, Chromecast Ultra can cast content up to 4K Ultra HD and HDR (High Dynamic Range). If the content you'd like to cast is a high resolution content such as 4K or HDR, you would need Chromecast Ultra since Chromecast can cast up to 1080p.

It used to work for months, then all of a sudden I get no sound from it. Even after factory reset and try it on different TV's, I get no sound whatsoever. I read online that other people were having the same trouble. Please avoid this if you don't want to have a headache in the end.

Already have a Dongle! Returned the Google - Chromecast Ultra for a refund! If you need a streaming device, don't waist your time on this one! Go for the "Mi Box!" It has Google - Chromecast Ultra built in with its own streaming without only mirroring your smart phone like a "Dongle!"
