Limited functionality
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to return it and exchange it for Roku because Roku is a more practical device. I can set up apps better in Roku and I can stream from my phone also using Roku. I feel that this product will phase out soon.

Misleading Information Regarding Wifi
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Product is marketed as not requiring WiFi, but it would not connect to the Android hotspot from my phone. I tried with multiple devices with no luck. Other than that is working as expected at home while connected to the WiFi

Great Idea, Needs Work
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really loved the idea of the Google Chromecast. My biggest issue is that the video often is out of sync with the sound. I would love this device if that was not so common, but it is almost everyday.

I wouldn't bother
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is fine but all you can do is cast. Basically no interface. I suggest getting the upgraded one. You'll be happier with added functionality

Missing a lot for price
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only real use is to cast from phone to tv. Google has so much more potential to make this a competitor to firestick. Drops connection often as well. Not user friendly.

Blurry Picture For a 4K Device!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this product. After using Google Chromecast since they first came out, I decided to purchase a 2nd Gen (4k) product. After taking it home & using it for a day or two, I had to return it for a regular 1080 (HD) Chromecast (2nd Gen). The regular (HD-2nd Gen) Chromecast gives a MUCH BETTER picture on my 4K TV. Hard to believe Google got this wrong. Horrible picture on my Smart 4K TV with their 4K model. Don't bother!

Keep it simple Don't buy
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hated this thing. Reset it a few times and the audio still tunes in and out and it isn't always discoverable. It also ONLY works for things you run through Google chrome so you can't play anything you've downloaded. There are also a lot of terms to agree to which, compared to a some HDMI and wireless keyboard mouse that requires nothing like that, seems really excessive. Lastly, anyone in the house can turn your stuff on and off so beware of you have troll friends or roommates.

HD chromecast ultra.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I decided I wanted to buy the ultra chromecast to see what the hype is all about. So I went to Best Buy and bought the one. Came home and set it up and when I had everything set up I watch a 4K movie via Netflix and was disappointed. Mind you I already have a regular chromecast. The ultra was no different then my standard one. I have them running thru my receiver that has 4K upscale and my tv is 4K as well. There was no different sin quality that could be noticed. Needless to say I returned it cause I could not see my self paying that much money for something that my regular one does the same.

costlier version of same crummy device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this Chromecast Ultra to give as a gift at the same time that I bought the less expensive Chromecast model for myself. After my frustrating attempts (and eventual failure) to connect the cheaper model to my own tv, I returned both. I ended up buying a new smart tv for my own use and giving a tablet as the gift. Also, why would the Chromecast app need permission to access my emails & texts for me to use my phone as the remote for the Chromecast??

Sucker for the hype
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Should have not been swayed by the presales marketing barrage. Honestly, I don't see any difference between the Ultra and the original chromecast. Not a total loss though, I added the Ultra to another tv.

Like it but love the Roku better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I bought this first as a possible alternative to cable or satellite as a streaming option. I wasn't thrilled with the ease of use, so I bought a Roku instead and love it.

Not what I was looking for
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought to cast videos to my TV from mobile devices. It was not a stable platform for this purpose. It was glitchy and would lose audio sync all the time when casting in 4K.

It works but not the best
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We find ourselves having to unplug the chromecast daily and wait 30 seconds to plug it back in just to get the icon to appear and try to get our devices to connect.

useless
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to watch my own movies, stored on my computer. No such luck. All I can do with it is to buy apps and canned movies I don't want. An at only $70.

it's not that user friendly
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it only works if you use google chrome and sometimes it doesn't detect my computer so it won't cast. roku's are much better.

Returned
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did not like the user interface of this device. It has to be controlled by your phone or tablet. I used this for about 3 days before returning it.
