I don't like because it's force to us with my cellular.

I recently purchased this CC Ultra from Best Buy. The pros are, streaming is fast and the picture quality is good. The only con I have experienced is, it gets disconnected on a few occasions if I cast it from chrome browser from my Mac and I have to turn off and turn my cc utlra device to fix it. My recommendation is if you wanna stream 4K videos go for it, else the normal CC would do the job. Overall performance is good.

I hooked it up to my Yamaha 3050 which is connected to an LG E6 OLED, connection I used is wifi and man oh man this little sucker kicks butt.... first of all it is super fast and responsive. Second the benefits of HDR and Dolby Vision by itself is making it all worth it. I can confirm that it streams Netflix and YouTube (the 4 tiny clips :) ) in HDR flawlessly over wifi without a hitch. I am super happy that I bought the Chromecast ultra.

This thing is a life changer! One of those products that you didn't know you needed in your life until you get it! If you're on the fence about this - don't be! Just buy it. It will make your life so much better. The convenience and ease at which it does its job is just incredible. LOVE IT.

I got hooked on Chromecast when they just first created it. It recently broke after service me 2 years and I decided to purchase Chromecast Ultra. I was not disappointed. You can connect Ethernet to it, which means higher Internet speed and the overall quality is so much better on my TV. So the basic functionality is the ability to watch videos or listen to music. You can use Youtube, Hulu and other providers for video. You can use Google Music, DI.FM and other providers for music. Frankly, having a Smart TV you can cast video just using TV itself. But Chromecast has other features that I am just in love with. I love the fact that you can cast pictures on your TV. Your own pictures from Google Photos or Facebook and other services. Other peoples pictures from all over the Internet. I always wanted to buy one of these digital picture frames, but this is so much better. It is a digital frame on your TV in HD. You can see the news. You know the temperature outside. It shows you current time. So for me Chromecast is not just the ability to watch video and listen to audio. It is so much more. It is entertainment and informational center for me. My TV is always ON.

According to Google, there is a known issue when installing the Ultra in that if you have an ethernet cable attached, the install will not work. Their workaround is to install with wireless and after setup is complete then attach the ethernet cable. Unfortunately for me that has not worked. It does continue to work great via wifi, but immediately upon attaching an ethernet cable my phone can no longer find the Ultra. Hopefully they fix this issue. If not I'll have to return my purchase to BB. I have been a great fan of Chromecast since its launch a few years ago and bought three of them (two Gen 1 and one Gen 2) prior to this purchase. I use them primarily for YouTube, Google Play Video/Music, Amazon Music, and Plex Media Server (for my personal collection of FLAC audio files and home videos). Recently I started shooting videos in DCI 4K and storing edited version in HEVC (h.265) at UHD resolution. Even though I have not upgraded to an UHD TV yet - my computer monitors are UHD - I saw the need to get a Chromecast Ultra so that I can avoid transcoding HEVC to h.264 and downscaling on Plex Media Server to feed the regular Chromecast, in addition I would like to transcode my older 1080p videos to HEVC to save storage space and the regular Chromecast cannot decode HEVC. While Chromecast Ultra excels at everything else, it fails miserably with downscaling UHD videos (regardless of h.265 or h.264 CODEC) for display on a 1080p display: the videos are shown in the wrong color space. This issue is specific to UHD videos played on 1080p TVs and monitors, and it impacts only the actual video, if any info (texts, thumbnails, etc) is overlaid on top it is rendered in the right colors, but regardless of what Chromecast-compatible app is used. I reached out to Google for support. Except the original chat session the communication has been one-directional, I have sent them screenshots as well as a sample video file. A week and a half later I have not heard ANYTHING back. My use case, while not the most common, is hardly unreasonable. With that in mind I am surprised this issue was not discovered in their software QA process. I would have stuck with them to work it out, however, if they had followed up, even if a workaround is not yet available. Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is on sale this week. I bought one and it renders UHD video on FHD TVs perfectly. If you are heavily invested in video/music contents from Google Play, then Chromecast is definitely for you, which is why I still recommend the product despite my troubles; otherwise take a close look at the competition - I am glad I did. Knocking one star off for functionality, and another for the poor support experience.

I have a Toshiba 55 inch 4K TV with Chromecast built in (model 55L711U18). It is an entry level 4K TV so when I would cast Netflix onto it, I was not 100% happy with the quality. Shows that I know are in 4K (most Netflix originals are in 4K) did not look impressive and the upscaling was even more disappointing. I mean it was better than my 1080p but I was expecting a little more even though it is an entry level 4K TV. I decided to get the Chromecast Ultra and it was a GREAT decision. The 4K shows that I tried before looked amazing and the movie I tried that was not in 4K looked as close to it as can get. I then put it into my 1080p television and was impressed with what I saw. Even though the content from my phone says HD, the Chromecast Ultra will stream it in the highest quality as long as you have the right plan and fast internet speed (shout out to the Ethernet port on the Chromecast Ultra). If you want to stream in the highest quality then you must get the Chromecast Ultra! Oh and I almost forgot that it does work with google home. Gotta love technology!

The chromecast is super easy to set up, provided with step by step instructions on how to activate it. It works flawlessly, without any interruptions or hiccups in the service. The 4K content is great.. Just be mindful that you require a 4K television to support it. Definitely worth it

I got it so that I could tell my Google Home to play Netflix without doing anything. While I still have to turn the TV on (not the case with all TVs) and off, it's still cool to just announce what you want to watch and it plays. So far, it only works with Netflix and YouTube, but that should change in time.
